Bill Maher Gives Audience an Ass Kicking 10/19

Posted on by Donald in Uncategorized Leave a comment

Hecklers (911 conspiracy nuts) on Real Time with Bill Maher get out of hand so Bill has to go personally kick their ass.

“Bill Maher wouldn’t have anything to do with a group of 9/11 conspiracy theorists, or “Truthers” as they’re called, on his show Friday night. Maher and his guests were interrupted several times with outbursts from the hecklers in the audience. Most of what they said was unintelligible, but at certain times you could hear them ask Maher “what about building 7?”. At one point Maher got fed up with their looniness and ran into the audience demanding security take them away. “

Sale Your Online Business Flat-Out

Posted on by Donald in Life Leave a comment

So your online business is doing well. It’s making you money, but it comes to a point where you want to try something new. Someone offers to buy you business, what do you do?

I sold my business to a supplier/competitor a couple years back. The only thing is I didn’t flat-out sell it to the guy. Instead we worked out a salary, and I continue to work on the site. Wrong move! Now I know it’s better to flat-out sell a website and move on to something bigger and better. It’s been two years now, I’m still dealing with all the hassles that come with partnerships in this way and it’s getting to me. I can’t say much, but I don’t see it lasting too much longer. Is this a good thing or bad thing? The security of salary will be lost, but I will gain freedom to move onto bigger and better things.

stressed.jpgI guess the point of this post is, don’t rent your self to someone. If you have a business to sale just flat-out get rid of it and move on. Learn from my experience and you’ll be a happier person.

Crappy day,
Aspkin

Aspkin’s Affiliate Marketing Guide

Posted on by Donald in How-To Leave a comment

When you’re new to the internet and making money online, you first go after the easiest ways to make money. That could be Adsense, Kontera, YPN or other set and forget it programs. Sure you’ll make a couple bucks off these programs, but the real money comes from affiliate programs. Besides selling your own product online, selling other people’s products online is one of the most profitable and rewarding things to do. Think about this. You start a Google Adwords campaign targeted to a niche product you are promoting. That traffic that’s 100% targeted goes to your landing page or directly to the sales page. The person buys and you get your commission. What’s so hard about that? It actually takes a bit of fine tuned actions to make your campaigns successful, and that’s where eBooks and Internet Marketing Guru’s try to push you this knowledge for $47 – $97 a book. What I’ve found over the months were blogs of real affiliate marketers giving away all their knowledge for free! Why pay for another Guru’s eBook when you can get better more details information for free?!

Welcome to the epiphany in your affiliate marketing career. What I’m going to present here is a constantly updating mega affiliate marketing guide. It will be article links from blogs and forum posts. You will find everything you need to get you started with affiliate marketing, which means never again will you PAY FOR ANY AFFILIATE MARKETING INFORMATION. There’s too much quality free stuff out there for you to waste time and money buying something else. I’ve sifted through blogs to find the top informational posts that covers most topics of affiliate marketing. If you read every article in this guide and still go out and buy an affiliate marketing eBook without putting what you just learned to good use, you’re stupid. These articles will give you a very solid background into affiliate marketing and all the different techniques you can use. All you have to do is go out there and test what you learned. Keep what’s converting, and drop what isn’t. As I’m completely positive I haven’t covered every good article out there, make sure to contact me and hit me up with some links to add.

My CPA Networks and Tools

I’m just going to list out the affiliate networks I use, as well as the tools (paid and unpaid) I use when starting up a campaign. I recommend signing up for every affiliate network out there (even the ones I don’t mention), as each network has different offers with different payouts. You can be doing sweet on a niche, sign up with another network, and find out that they have a higher converting offer that pays out more. None of the paid tools are necessary, but each of them has their own special use to me and that’s why I use them.

Andrew Keen Wants to Kill The Internet!

Posted on by Donald in Other Leave a comment

A very interesting interview I found at cnn.com talks to Andrew Keen and his belief that Web 2.0 is killing off the big media giants. Who wants to pay for music when you can download it for free, who wants to buy a newspaper when you can read all the news you want online. The freedom we have online expressing our self is redundant compared to professional news organizations. He explains that user generated content is worthless and the fact that sites like Wikipedia and YouTube only encourage people to be lazy with any information or media they share. He wants us to stop using the internet for information, and entertainment and wants us to go back to traditional media giants to appreciate professional entertainment.

andrew-keen.jpgThough Andrew talks like he has some level of education, it seems he hasn’t spent more then few minutes online. Web 2.0 is the ability for a common person to express their self online in a way traditional media could never do. It brings people together to collectively share information whether it’s fact or fiction. Web 2.0 is something Andrew Keen is afraid of. With change there is fear Andrew?

I for one embrace the internet as our next media gateway. Sure there is a lot of inaccurate information out there, but just like traditional media you can’t accept everything you read or see as fact.

The internet is an important gateway to share information and I for one would rather lose all other sources of information before I lose the internet. It’s a medium that connects me to thousands of people around the world and without it I’d be stuck with static.

Using Your Email List to the Fullest

Posted on by Donald in How-To, Intresting Stuff, Recommends Leave a comment

The first thing you should do when working online, selling or promoting products is to start an email list. With an email list you’re able to promote your product and others over and over again, instead of just once on your website or through other mediums.

getrThink about this. Whenever a visitor finds your website, they read the information they came for and if you’re lucky they’ll click on your adsense or buy something from you. What if they don’t do either? Most people visiting your website will come and go without making you money. What you need to do is capture as many of these prospects in an auto responder such as GetResponse and promote for the long run.

The best way to capture a visitor’s email is to offer them something for free! It can be anything! But remember this, if you simply ask for visitor to signup for blog updates or news updates, you won’t have as much luck as giving something away for free.

The best things I’ve seen people give away are 7-week courses on a specific subject. At the end of that course you have built up enough trust with the prospect to promote a product you believe in. People make tons of money online doing this. An example is giving away a 7-week course on eBay suspensions. After the seven weeks are up, offer them a product that’ll make you money. This can be your own product or someone else’s.

stat

The good thing about having an email list is whenever there is another great product related to your 7-week course or product; you can promote this and make even more money. You don’t want to promote just any old product though, if a prospect feels you’re just using them to make money online, you’ll lose their trust and they’ll filter you out.

The best thing about this is the more people you have in your email list, the more money you’ll make in the long run.

Just a quick tip on what I do to make some extra cash online.

WordPress Misty Theme Faults Combo with Semiologic

Posted on by Donald in Rant 2 Comments

I’ve just about finished combining the Misty WordPress theme and Semiologic theme. I loved the way Misty looked but its functionality was limited and often broke in situations.

You can see here comments for one of my more popular post were cut off in firefox.

Firefox Comments

Also adsense I added in the Misty wanted to repeat in Firefox and gave me errors in IE!

error

And probably the least attractive part of Misty was its lack of a second sidebar. There’s just a lot of empty space going on there. Its not all Misty’s fault. It’s simply a template and nothing more. I was asking too much from it when its only a static. I love the way it looks, it’s clean and simple, but I need more. So the functions from Semiologic like ad spaces, a second side bar, and a ton more features and plugins had to be combined with the art and beauty of Misty. It’s taken be about two days to do it, but I feel I’m 99% done.

Now I just have to fix my categories and RSS and I’ll be good to go!

Chris Hanson On South Park!

Posted on by Donald in Fun 1 Comment

The new episode of South Park: Cartman, Tourette’s, and Chris Hanson! I thought it was great!

Quote from Pocketfives:

Chris HansonI have to admit I laughed really hard at this episode. I know it wasn’t a great one by SP’s high standards and most of the humor comes from basically just swearing like Cartman’s hilarious insults right to their face, but it was still hilarious. Not much superb satire like we have come to expect.

The pedos were hilarious,
“OMG Chris Hansen” *BANG*
“What the hell Chris Hansen” *BANG*
“Oh no Chris Hansen” *BANG*
“There’s no brownies?” *BANG*

Cartman’s accidental confessions, especially the one to Butters, were gold too. The fact he wrote Donkey Boners at the end of his letter to Chris Hansen…Lol.

Overall 7/10.

Hitman 3: Blood Money Theme Music (Ave Maria)

Hitman: Blood Money!

I don’t know what it is about Hitman: Blood Money, but I can’t seem to get enough of the free for all killing fields it sets up for you. You’re a hitman charged to seek and destroy your mark in any fashion you choose. You can go psycho and blast anyone between you and your mark, or you go silent and take out only the person you came for. Its fun either way! I wrote a review about this game awhile back. You can read it here (Hitman: Blood Money Review). The main reason for this post is the theme music of Blood Money; the intro where hitman is dead with two guns across his cheat. I love that song. It’s called Ave Maria.

You can listen to the song here: Schubert – Ellen dritter Gesang (Ave Maria)

Or watch/listen to the YouTube video of it here:

Mike! You’re the winner of the Halo 3 damaged disc give away! I’ve sent you an email already with more details, get back to me as soon as you can. Thanks for playing!

The gameplay of Halo 3 largely builds upon the previous iterations of the franchise. It is a first-person shooter that follows the character Master Chief and his struggle against the Covenant and the Flood. The game’s action takes place largely on foot, but also includes segments focused on vehicular combat.
