Just wanted to ask: If a package is inspected by customs in china before it reaches the US, does it not get checked by the US or does it go through US customs quicker? or is this just an extra step and it still goes through full procedure of customs in the US as well? | Yes. Just because it gets checked in China does not mean it will not get checked in the US as well.
I received one package that went through customs in China, and there was a letter in with the usual packing slips that certified the package was inspected and did not contain anything illegal to export under Chinese law, and also did not contain (I forget the word they used) ________ materials or anything related to the Falun Gong.
So there seem to be different priorities here. Chinese customs, in my opinion, is looking more for porno, or what they consider to be "subversive" materials, while US Customs is looking for counterfeits, drugs, etc.
