I presume you don't wish them to get their hands on the money?

Phone your bank now and cancel the direct debit for PayPal.

Do it asap!

Ah, don't worry about it then. The payment will go through fine. The name won't matter.

not according to the way my fourm-ite forefathers have taught me....

they will see on the echeque payment from my bank a different name to the one that is on my paypal account

i don`t think there is anything else i can do apart from cancel the direct debt, but i don`t want to do that

please someone with experience in this tell me what to do or expect

thanks

GTB, yeah you've messed up a little but you already know this

Paypal may be able to see the name on your bank account when uploading these funds which obviously they wont match. HOWEVER unless you get a manual review by one of paypals delightful staff (LOL) then you might be okay.

Annother thing to consider could be ringing paypal and asking them to cancel their attempt to take the fees from your account because you have no funds. You could then offer to pay the fees on a pre-paid card instead?

thanks IM£

what about if i ask my bank to decline the echeque, not sure i can get them to do that but

then i could pay with a pre paid card

do you think the bank will decline it or will i have to cancel the direct debit?

or,what about if i take all money out of the bank,so they will decline it anyway?

just a few ideas...what do you think?

in future on new accounts in your little notebook make a note of the dates of each month you need to pay your fees via VCC or something similar....

they get alot of credits every day, I doubt they check it manually, and I know there is no bot checking credit name match up, otherwise the times it happened to me ( yes I make mistakes sometimes), it would have shut me down automatically, and it didnt - however if you get a manual review in next few months it might be something they look at - unlikely though...fingers crossed you should be ok..

Ok so if I'm about to open a stealth account too avoid this scenario I should never pay my fees with paypal only a prepaid card?

If you stop the direct debit you can attach the same bank account to the same paypal again, I have done it a few times, as paypal keep messing up and trying to take money from the bank rather than funds in paypal.
If they complain about it I tell them to sort out the S##T system they have, as it should do what I want not what it feels like. They will not be willing to pay the bank charges when their system messes up, so why should I not stop the direct debit.
But most of the time they just let you link it back without any questions.

yes, this method would ensure that problems like the one i am facing never occur

i was just being lazy and not following normal stealth procedure

it is more convenient to pay eb ay fees with pp,but.....you could have £50 in pp ready to pay the fees,,,then someone files a dispute for £50,then that money is no longer available to pay the fees,so then they take the £50 directly from your bank account which will then give them your true name,,,,not good for stealth..........

so the motto for this story is ...."if your being a lazy sod,pp will catch up with you"

good luck

Not a one.

They have to accept stuff happens and people are not going to pay bank charges the same as any other company that you did that to.

from my own previous thoughts and threads, and now this one, is it wise to say (aside from don't pay your stealth EB fees with stealth PP), just leave a small buffer zone of funds in paypal? E.g. if you sell 10 items of £10 and have received £100, always assume/account for one of the ten going to dispute, therefore leave at least £10 in there so the dispute never hits the bank account?

I have had the other problem a few times where paypal have ignored the funds in paypal and tried to take the funds from my bank account instead.

Annoying as hell but it happens now and again.

yes I always leave the price of at at least one or two sales in pot
