I am now getting collection e-mails from an old ebay account from 3 yrs ago, in which I still use the paypal that was linked to it for buying online and various money making sites. How can I keep that account? Address and phone are different. No CC on file. Still using same bank to withdraw money to. Thanks!

I cannot believe it is still up and running.
Is this with your real info? If so I would be paying it.
If not, time for a buyer only account with a new paypal.
One of these days you are going to have some decent money in it and they will limit it on you.

Yes, it has real info. Wrong address and phone. Whats strange is the last time they sent me an e-mail to pay fees for buyer protection case was back in 2010. Could the e-mail be bogus?

Not likely.
In debt collections, follow-ups get generated whenever needed.
Could well be one last chance. |

Wow thats amazoning they haven't just shut you down and took whatever money was in it. If u are planning on using this I'd pay for the balance for peace of mind because eventually they will limit you, however that may happen when u pay the bill as well, pay it with a vcc nothing associated with Paypal .

You will have to pay up the debt (or settle it, whichever you can do) or risk REAL hit to your credit history when pp decides to enforce it.
Dont wait for yourself to be limited...if you do and THEN pay off the balance, pp will have a good laugh as they keep the ban stick /ON.
All the best with your path of choice

They will tell you that it has been referred to Collections. You should be advised to go to them.

I got into the account and want to pay the debt. Whats the safest way to pay without giving up my real info. VCC? Is paying with paypal safe since its linked to that account anyways? Thanks~

From what Im reading I need a gift card, not a pre paid card. Gift cards don't need a SSN. Am I on the right track? If so I think Walmart has a good one that worked good in the past.

Just keep in mind, paying the balance off would help avoid collectors but is unlikely to reinstate the eB account given the amount of time that has passed

I see you can get a Vanilla GC for $20-$500 at local store. Im guessing this is the Visa Gift card not the Prepaid card which does not require a SSN? Is this correct?

Collections virtually 99% means they want the money but they DONT want you as a user

Well I paid them and I got the MC042 message saying they have reinstated the account, but its still suspended. At least my credit won't get hurt. Should I call them and keep trying?
