Here is what happened to me just 4 days ago: after 3 months of not selling anything, I decided to put up for auction few rare Vintage Chanel handbags and some other designer items from my own collection. I listed a pair of Designer shoes first, than the Chanel handbag...and, Oh my God! Here is the window pop up flashing Warning!!! "Are you trying to sell the counterfiet....It's illegal.....etc. You better have a gurantee card or proof of purchase, as your auction will be flaged and if found to be a ⊗⊗⊗⊗, your account will be suspended!" Wow!!!! Threat, after threat.... And ALL of my items are truly authentic! I took detailed pictures of everything, including Hologram-Gurantee Card numbers etc..and even mentioned a link to website for potential buyers to go and authenticate if in doubt. I know my items are authentic, so I pressed the button with a shaky hand and listed the bag risking to be suspended. I was trying to list another different Chanel handbag, but Ebay window poped up saying I can not list this item for another 30 days...So, even though I aplaud Ebay and their efforts to eliminate counterfits, they should not be threathining like this or limiting how much people can sell. Perhaps Ebay should hire knowledgable people (how about VERO?) for each Designer line where sellers can have their "auctions" pre-approved before listing them? The expence of something like this sure bits $63 mil fine they may need to pay and lost listing revenue from honest sellers.
FYI, my auctions are still on, but I live in fear ...Is that what Ebay is all about? Sell or not sell, I keep my fingers crossed not to get account suspended.
