Nice Post Mooncricket! I do the same thing with Time-Warner cable only I use two NIC cards in my main pc in place of the router.
For some reason spoofing the MAC ID in my router does not change the IP. However spoofing the NIC card's MAC ID does though, very strange. I've tried three completely different routers and I still cannot get my IP to change.
So here is what I figured out. You're going to love this.
- I have an ethernet cable from the cable modem to the 1st NIC card.
- I have internet sharing enabled with the 2nd NIC card and a
Static IP of 192.168.11.1 on the 2nd NIC card.
- I have another ethernet cable from the 2nd NIC card to any LAN port on the router
- I have the router setup as access point only (with WPA). I disabled DHCP and assigned the router a
Static IP of 192.168.11.254
- This carries the signal over to my laptop which is manually assigned 192.168.11.2
- my iphone is .3, my wife's is .4, and so on
Now that I've explained the setup let's begin the IP switch process (takes less then a minute).
- I first turn the power off on the modem. Since I'm lying in bed with a beer in my hand I have this remote keychain that turns the power on and off in the other room
and my cable modem is plugged into that. Here's a link of what I purchased

- I then VNC

- I use MAC Makeup
Mac MakeUp - MAC Address spoofing tool to spoof the MAC ID of the 1st NIC card. I do it twice, once with the "auto on/off" checked and once with it unchecked.
- Then I disable the 1st NIC card
- I turn back on the cable modem with my spiffy remote
- I wait about 30 seconds and re-enable the 1st NIC connection
- Wait another 30 seconds and check your ip

I have to do it exactly in that order or else it doesn't work.
The trick is to see if you can use the same 2 or 3 MAC ID's to keep the same 2 or 3 IP addresses. I keep mine for weeks as long as I log into each one every day.
