ok re update, that is good news I think, you will probably be given the benefit of the doubt, at any rate they are trying to resolve, they can see you tried to initiate it and they are admitting its their fault, they may even just wave you through, thats happened to me before, when i created enough unintentional confusion. Just dont let it go to the address, keep a close eye on their emails and catch any failure in phone call early, with a call to them..
