Why is Amazon rotating my horizontal photos to vertical?
Has anyone else run into this problem?
I'm updating a main image on a longstanding Amazon listing, perhaps to add a watermark or something to deter image theft (a problem in my area, but that's another story), or maybe it's a newer and higher quality photo.
In any case, the old one is horizontal (wider than it is deep), and so is the new one, but I upload it and it goes across as horizontal and looks fine at first. But then I see later in the listing that it has been rotated to vertical! So the buyers see the item sideways!
I've tried re-doing it and still it comes out with the rotation I don't want. As a last-ditch I could try adding borders to make a horizontal into a vertical, but they could try to call me on violating the image guidelines there, I suppose.
It only happens with horizontal photos. If I have a vertical one it always uploads as vertical and stays that way. Seems like a bug or something. Anyone know of an easier fix?
