Chances of getting money back from deleted account

I know this is a BAD situation. I'd still like to hear from those with first hand experience:

1. Is it really 100% lost money? Is there any chance (or past instance) of getting money back from deleted account?
2. If it is still worth a shot, what should I do? Contact Jeff or seller-performance?

I personally have never come across anyone (with credibility) who has said that they have gotten their money back after having an account totally deleted

@chai, lot of posts about this - maybe some posts not accessible to you since you aren't subscribed.

My last bout of deleted Amazon accounts was in 2010/2011 - few hundred dollars in a few accounts each...I have never been able to get that money back.

I got my money back from an account i can no longer log into.

You need to get them to ackowledge the account is suspended to get the clock ticking for a 90 day hold. If they have just kept the account under review then the status is unclear and you may have to wait longer.

You need to be in touch with payment-investigate dept rather than seller verification.

I got funds from a deleted account, and then got the account undeleted. Could only use it as a buyer account after though.

Hi,

just had my eu account deleted for "failing a review" was all FBA all legit and a real account.

I plan to open a "small claims court" case in Europe, money was around 5500 Euros.

Worth a shot definitely. I am not a legal expert, but I think EU is far ahead in terms of financial consumer protection legislation.

when it goes to court, then i really wanna know their "reason", since in the email they do not "want" to tell me the reason at all. But i'm sure to win they have to infront of the court.

It was abut two and a half years ago. The money came through in bits. All there in the end.

Not sure about US as I do not sell in US, but have had EU accounts blocked/deleted and have always got my money back.
I usually email Amazon 100/110 days after initial block and receive the monies soon after.
Most recent was just last month, over £6k in a blocked account which was all credited back to the bank account they had on file.
Not sure if same will apply to US accounts.

I received a significant amount last year after 120 days of getting the account deleted - could not log on.

This was on Amazon UK though

Amazon cannot legally hold your money forever. They hold your money for 90 days pending any disputes, chargebacks, or refunds. They have to release it the next disbursement cycle after the 90 day hold.
