Business License required?
I recently signed up for a new Amazon seller account from a new PC, new IP address, new credit card, new phone number, etc. A couple hours after signing up and listing several items, I get a message from Amazon asking for:
"Within the next 30 days, please provide the following documents and confirm there is a valid credit card on file:
--Utility bill with name and address visible
--Business license
--If you have active listings, include copies of invoices, receipts, contracts or delivery orders from your supplier issued in the last 90 days."
WTF? I initially signed up for their paid seller account deal where they charge $39.99 month. This was by mistake, so I contacted Amazon and they said they would refund me by depositing $39.99 into my bank account in a couple days. Is there any way around this business license requirement? I just want to sell as a low volume small seller for now. Does Amazon verify the business license?
Also, are individual sellers really expected to have invoices for all their stuff? I'm seriously just selling old books and things lying around the house. I don't have suppliers. I contacted Amazon about this but they never responded.
