Tax ID/EIN Help or Suggestions for Old Account
Hi Guys,
I have a question/problem that I'm hoping and praying you guys can help with that I could not find a clear answer in ghost or the forums. First off, have 2 old (8+ yrs) Amazon 24hr accounts that are both in good standing. One is my real info, name, ss, etc. The second is a stealth with a bogus name and no tax info entered. I stopped using the second account years ago when the 20/200 was implemented, hence no tax info is attached and switched the account to individual to avoid the monthly fees.
Recently, I began using the bogus second account again in individual mode and now am approaching the 50 item sale limit, and just received the "add tax info" email. I have an EIN with my real name and dba as a sole proprietor that is unused, but am afraid that will link both accounts since my real name is on both. I read on the forum that the tax interview will match ein and real name if sole prop. is used rather than business name and ein. I really do not want to jeopardize the accounts so I am looking for some advice, and have been searching the forum for a couple of days with no clear resolution.
Since I have a brand new unused ein in my name, can that be of any use? Or, should I disregard it entirely and go a different route, meaning form a LLC or other type of company and get another ein?
Have read on the forums that the name is not important, but would feel quite uneasy having the exact same first, middle, and last name on 2 accounts, one with a ss and one with an ein.
Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated. |
