Amazon... what are you doing?

Hi everybody,

So my 3 year old Amazon account with great feedback was recently suspended due to complaints from the competition. Amazon are now holding over $13,000 of my hard earned money for 90 days. ugh!!!

I've known about this site for a while now and I actually bought both the stealth and ghost books about a year ago but I guess I was just being naive thinking that it wouldn't happen to me since business was really good and well... here I am.

My eBay account is still in good shape (I hope) with over 18,000 feedbacks - 99.2% but after all the horror stories read on this forum, I feel that it's time to start of up a few stealth accounts as well as ghost.

Welcome to the forums. Be happy. Many people who lose an Amazon account through DELETION. When that happens, you cannot log in and you can kiss the money goodbye. At least you will get your $13k.

Many of us found the forums AFTER we had the same type of situation - we never thought it would happen to us! Personally, I thought that only scam-artists and counterfeiters lost accounts, but that turned out to be wishful thinking.

The POSITIVE thing is, you are still doing business and can now start building your stealth business. The best thing about it is that is spreads your risk over MANY accounts so that if one dies, you still have the others. This limits your risk and makes your online business more stable.

One exact reason I would NEVER sell on Amazon - deleting accounts and NEVER seeing the money!

deleting accounts is common when account is very young and selling high end items, not so common for older accounts running well

It is annoying and has also limited my own sales exposure on Amazon too

Creating multiple stealth accounts is a must.

Also write an appeal to your suspension including plan of action to comply with selling policies.

Chances of getting the acct. back are slim, but it is always worth your best efforts.

Welcome to the forum. As you know amazon is a good selling platform but no business is safe. Open several ghost accounts and spread the risk. You are lucky that your account is only suspended. Amazon are still holding over £85k of mine now for over 2 years, yes we all learn the hard way.

Sandy, they can basically do what they like, they write the rules. Lawyers involved but it just goes on and on, their pockets are bottomless.
