I was just checking the countries for which bank accounts are acceptable for amazon.com ,just saw canada ,hongkong and india in that list.is it really true that disbursements can be sent to bank accounts for these countries

Yes it is possible. Now they have recently included these countries as well. For countries where functional currency is different, the accounts have to be able to process foreign currency for eg. US dollars. These accounts are also sometime called Foreign Currency Accounts or FC accounts in short.
i actually meant to ask how when you open bank accounts you have a standard chequeing and savings account so does this get connected directly to that and they convert it in local currency or it needs a us dollar account in the bank
