Default Frustrated with Amazon EU

I need to let go some steam and hopefully get some advice from you guys.

I am on Amazon US, became a seller some time ago, submitted documents when requested, asked the support a lot of questions,... all was handled by Amazon in a very prompt manner. Very happy and good experience (much better than my friends eBay and Paypal).

I see potential to sell on the European market too, based on the good experience with Amazon US I registered with Amazon UK. Submitted what they requested (real identity not stealth) waited the 10 days for verification. After 10 days no outcome, so I send them a message, few days later still no reply. So I called them. Got a Filipino agent, half of the time I was not able to understand him (I work with Filipinos and normally have no issue with the accent). After that call I got an email from them to confirm if I am an individual or a business. I did reply to them that I will trade as individual (same as in US). After a few days still no reply from them, called my friends in the Philippines again, and on the same day Amazon replied with some standard answer:

Quote:
You will be unable to continue your registration for a Selling on Amazon account as we have determined that your intended trading activity does not meet the parameters of a "Private Person". If you are operating your business by yourself from the UK, you would need to register as a UK sole proprietor. Alternatively, please reply to this email advising which business type you are operating as (Partnership, Limited Company, etc), and we will be able to review your application.
Send email again, waiting now for 4 days for an answer.

What should I do, register as a business? I am based in Thailand and do not have a business. What would you guys suggest?

Thanks

Ok decision made, need to register as a business. Now the question is what is better, Sole Trader in UK or / UK Limited Company? Please advise.

Believe that depends on how much your turnover is going to be, if you just do this part time and don't rely on it for your livelihood then Sole Trader is the best option, if you are planning to sell business volumes then business is the choice.

Regardless of whether its part time / full time its still a business where TAX needs to be paid. You also may as well say a business.

A business is anyone selling items for profit. Individuals sell items to get money back for items they dont want anymore.

Just tell them Sole Trader as you 'trade as' any name you wish.

Thanks for the reply!

The account is not stealth, real info and I don't mind to pay tax or additional costs to maintain the company.

In terms of Amazon, which option is easier or more likely to get approved with, Sole Trader or UK Limited Company?

Sole Trader as LTD company they will want your company number which you won't have.

Setup as a sole trader.
