Is aging a brand new amazon seller account necessary or should i just go balls deep?

go balls deep... aging is not necessary on amazon at all. Start off slowish unless you are selling via FBA or until you get at least a couple of positive feedback

Brand new (may get rolling 14 days reserve) < Aging brand new < Aging brand new with selling history

Is this valid even if you are selling name brand merchandise? It seems like it triggers questions from Amazon regarding authorization to resell and etc on new accounts that start selling those kinds of items. I've never had a problem with established accounts, but new accounts go under review and Amazon even asks for letter of authorization to sell those brand names. Any input on that?
