Default Because I sold too many or is it that manufacturer wants Amazon...

Because I sold too many or is it that manufacturer making Amazon stop sellers from selling this from now on? Here's the gist of the email, went to all my accounts selling this product, I didn't include the Asin number for obvious reasons:

"Dear Seller,

Please read this email carefully. The listing information described below may affect your ability to sell certain products on Amazon.com.

As part of our ongoing efforts to provide the best possible customer experience, we are implementing listing restrictions for the ASINs listed at the end of this email.

What does this mean for me?

Effective on 6/2/16, you will need to be identified by the manufacturer as an authorized Internet reseller to sell the affected products listed at the end of this email. If you are not listed as an authorized Internet reseller prior to 6/2/16, your listings for these products will be removed.

Why am I receiving this message?

You are receiving this message because you have sold affected products in the past. There is no penalty associated with this action.

How do I seek approval to sell the affected products?

If you are not authorized, but would like to obtain authorization, please contact the manufacturer.

Thank you for selling on Amazon.com.

Also, if your source is a grey area, it could be because of the leak.

What leak do you mean? Also, is it only affecting my accounts or does this apply to everybody? So for example, you want to sell this, are you able to since your accounts are not associated with me.

It sounds like it is sitewide.

If it was just your accounts, the item would be blocked and instantly, not scheduled.

Grey source such as authentic goods being sold in a grey manner. Such as by the factory over seas directly and not from the OEM manufacturer. The leak, meaning the source that bypasses the OEM manufacturer.

This often happens when a OEM hires a factory to make an item and then move the item to a new factory. Overstock and existing inventory is sold to asian markets or the factory straight up keeps on producing and sells on alibaba etc... This cuts out the registered trademark owner and the USA OEM manufacturer. It is most likely the largest issue currently with manufacturing overseas.

Phazorz, I can't because eBay is a terrible market for this one. Also, what do you guys think of the possibility that this is a competitor email? It's from seller-info@amazon.com, legit?

Anyone know the link to contact for submitting docs?

You know, I'm starting to think that this message was sent by a competitor. I tried to look for this email in the messaging center, and it was nowhere to be found. It would be interesting though, let's just assume that it was a competitor, how this person got my email then.

This is definitely Amazon and I would be willing to bet it is the manufacturer that asked them to do this. Either that, or Amazon has had a problem with people selling phakes of these items, so they decided to only allow authorized dealers to sell them.

My guess is this will become more common in the future. Also direct sales. Back when everything was bricks and mortar, it simply didn't pay for manufacturers to try to sell directly. Now, however, they can sell across 10 websites and pick up 90% of the market. In fact, I think that Amazon has been pushing like hell for the automation of their warehouses to accommodate that - so they can do fulfillment so cheap, it would be too difficult for a company new to that to beat their efficiencies.

Would upgrading to a pro merchant account allow you to sell more stuff?

No,
This is not to single you out as a seller, for whatever reason, Amazon is only letting authorized retailers sell this item.

I had this happen to a few ASINS, it sucks but nothing you can do.
