Adding a new bank account to existing pay pal

Hi All

I was wondering if someone can help with the following issues.

1. I tried to add a new bank account to an existing pay pal account without success. I had to add a new number to confirm account as the previous number was prepaid and had expired. When I tried to do this I received a message saying 'cannot add a bank account at this time'.

2. The bank accounts I tried to add did not successfully go into the pay pal system. So having said that - would the still be in the pay pal database? and can I use these details for a new stealth account?

Prefer to sort out first issue but not sure how I can get around this? Does any one have any ideas?

The only time I have gotten that message was when I tried to add a load and go "bank account", seems in that instance PayPal no longer accepts load and go bank accounts as when I entered a bank of Melbourne account right after it was accepted. Not sure if this is related to your issue tho!

When you add a new bank account pp send a pin via SMS. I think the issue is that I changed my number prior to doing this (as it had expired) so they will not allow a new bank account to be added. Do I have to call them up to get it added? Anyone have any ideas re this?

How long a go did PP send a pin via SMS? I thought they only did that when you wanted to verify a mobile number.

Don't reuse this bank account since PP likes has it stored - I would risk a call at this point

Oh ok, hmmm I've never had them send a pin for adding a bank account, but I'm pretty new to this. Best of luck

Craig, it was just recently when I tried to add a new bank account to my account. But the number I had on file expired so I added a new number to the account but this did not work.

I think this pin verification process is for adding a second bank account to PP

The same issue happened two times on two accounts - ANZ and CommB
