Default Using merchant accounts

I did not see a thread with information on whether or not youcan use the same merchant account on two ebay accounts. I have a merchant account I used with ebay, the ebay account got suspended Will I be able to use that same merchant account with a new stealth account. I did not see anywhere in the book talking about utilizing the same merchant account for two ebay accounts just paypal.

How about we request a new API and transaction key? It this ok for Stealth Account? I saw people mentioned that Ebay will ask you to send in merchant statement. Will they call authorize.net to verify the name on the statement? Will ebay know the real owner of the merchant account?

Im looking for info on this, as well. Im in the process of getting approved through a merchant provider that includes Authorize.net with the package. When I add my API to my existing stealth account, will I be able to drop acceptance of PayPal? Ive read conflicting posts all over the net that you DO and DONT need to talk to Ebay. Some folks say they just enter the API info and theyre good to go. No faxing, etc.

Along the same lines, should my current stealth account be banned (as inevitably it probably will at some point down the line), can I simply have a new API & transaction key generated for a new stealth account WITHOUT switching merchant providers?

Thanks

OK, so I looked this up for myself and the way Ebay links you is with the API & Transaction key. If youre using Authorize.net, you can generate a new transaction key through the website automatically, but if youre trying to set up for a new Ebay account youre going to need both.

To do that, all you have to do is make a call to Authorize.net through their 877 number during regular business hours. Just tell them that you need a new API because you suspect the old one was compromised, and theyll set you up with it. After that, create the new Transaction Key the same way you did the first time.

Please note that you dont want to be doing this on a regular basis. Maybe once or twice a year tops, otherwise Authorize.net is going to start wondering whats going on with you. But if you get suspended, this is the route to go without having to apply for a brand new Merchant Account.

Remember, Ebay doesnt see who's on the other side of the Merchant account. All they see is the API and Trans Key. As long as these are different from your prior account, you wont get linked. At least not by these.

Hope this helps!

Same technique can be used with bank accounts or debit cards attached to banned accounts... Sometimes this is much easier then opening a new account somewhere else... However, same advice must be given. Maybe 1-2 times at one location.

Great info btw!
