Default Canada Shipping :/

Hello, current i am selling approx. $30 items, but i only charge 6$ shipping as i pay the rest. What is the best company to go to for shipping to the USA without absurd time lengths but still cheap enough so that i can substantially profit on my $30 item?

Shipping from Canada sucks and as you know its not cheap. Best if you use the Canada Post shipping system built right into PayPal. If you use small packet air it sort of has a tracking number. And it will show on the paypal system as shipped.

*But the tracking is not really tracking, just a receipt number. And not good enough for a dispute unfortunately.

But its fairly cheap. Xpresspost has tracking for more expensive items, but its pretty pricey. For $30 items you are best to use small packet air. It wont help if the buyer says they didn't get it. But hopefully that's rare. But use the PayPal shipping system.

usually my canada customers told me they use small packet air to shipping the parcel to usa,as it is cheap enough, also it won't too long

small packet air is not that bad at all for delivery time but that's it

most of my packages are too big to go small packet so they are sent expedited parcel which is slow as hell. Why they call it expedited I have no idea.

For costs though, you cant beat the canada post prices if you use the paypal shipping tool...

Correct me if i am wrong - since i haven't sent small packet in awhile - but there is no tracking with small packet air. Just heads-up - it is the most convenience and affordable option IF you stay below weight restrictions...

Correct. No tracking. But it does have a receipt number that shows as shipped within paypal. But as noted above, for $30 items tracking is just not a feasible option here.

True - receipt shows shipped within paypal but if you are taking for non-receipt by buyer, that option won't hold weight since giving a small packet untrackable number does not mean that you necessarily dropped the package in the mailbox...just remember that.

Ya, but if selling $30 item from Canada you have two choices only: Ship without tracking or charge $20 for shipping :(

Better off taking your chances with a chargeback over nobody wanting to pay for xpresspost. And even xpresspost doesn't have signature to US anyway.

It's a win-lose situation. Either you win sales by offering cheaper shipping or lose customers by offering tracking....

The only pitfall is the fact that customers can take advantage of you if you do not offer tracking on your shipments....

It's hard to compete with the usa competitors these days due to that fact that everything is cheaper in the USA. Now, I've NEVER heard of $1 media mail shipping in Canada.

It costs me almost $2 to send a small tiny letter within Canada.

Right. Shipping from Canada really sucks. into the US no problem but overseas? no prove of shipment, wont hold when a buyer files a claim of non receipt. You will loose either way. I know

How much is "small package" air mail using paypal shipping? from Canada to USA?

I'm currently going into the post office and sending out Small package air mail and it cost me about $7 each.

Best bet would be to find a drop shipper in the USA that can do this for you and for cheap; otherwise you are stuck with air mail and the wait time going international

Yeah I never understood how those US people can ship something with tracking for like $2.00, ridiculous.

Thanks Cronin for the link. Will look into them.
Any one can suggest any other Canadian couriers that deliver parcels from Canada to U.S. and drop them off at the borders ?

Thanks!
