USbank for Canadian

I need some assist. I knew that we can get harrison bank in Canada that is better option for stealth but I also planning to get a real USBANK because it is more convenience. Other than BOA, any other US bank is good option?

I spoke to BOA reps few times and they said I can do the application online which is no require to come in branch. Therefore, I get my US address set up with notarized form etc. I registered yesterday online for a checking account then it was pop up said there is not enough information to verify and i need to visit in branch which is completely different than last few times (i call at least five time verify before getting mailbox and etc.)

Anyone know Canadian can apply one without going to the branch or any other US bank can go for stealth that i can tried to apply?

I use Harris Bank - based in IL - dont need to go in branch. Bank of America you do need to go in as well as for Chase.

TD works - can do everything on the phone and mail in documents.

I just spoke with Bank of America about this issue. You have to go into a branch to open the account. They have branches in the Buffalo, NY area if you're in the Golden Horseshooe. Once you do that, you'll probably never have to set foot in the branch again. You can deposit and withdraw funds from Scotiabank ATMs in Canada into and out of your BoA account.

I would say TD is a good option as well as BMO harris since you can make both on the phone and get details mailed
never tried but heard rbc centura is also a good option

if you live in montreal ,try travelling a bit and crossing border and getting an account at champlain bank.worked fine when I used it.

also if you want to actually cross the border and you live in toronto or close by theres a lot of banks in buffalo though I havent done that personally

You google BMO Harris Bank and go on the website to apply for bank account.

You will need to send in copies of ID

I have BMOHarris, works great. Call them.

You will need SIN and DL and Major credit card to run credit check. Once credit is okay, account will be opened, they will send you documents to be returned via UPS.

They send an express return prepaid envelop. You will need utility bill, and DL (F and B), and sign the signature card and agreement. Once they receive it, account is open.

A direct banking manager will contact you to start online banking.
