i have wind and bell
for wind its like 123.123.123.xxx
mostly the last 2 digits change in the ip and sometimes only last
very few times ive seen the 5th digit change but that too is the only number it changes too.overall the ip pool is small but works

bell has a large ip pool, lot of different ip variations.I think rogers has a large pool as well

Smile Re: which dongle to get

I was looking at getting the $35/month mobile phone plan with unlimited data & than tethering from my phone

Will this also give me a small pool of IP's on the wind network?

Or is it different than a dongle's small IP list

Thanks

@COWEN, depends on the provider. Bell and Rogers will give a large pool - wind is not so great for large IP pool.

$35 price is nice however

How long must the dongle be disconnected to generate a new IP?

Tethering from my phone is instantaneous

Get a dongle that gives you the same Static IP everytime, because everytime you log in to ebay with a new ebay it raises a flag... to which you then have to ring in and prove your account is not been hacked or used by a third party...

A static dongle is not needed.

So long as cookies are in place then you will have no issues using a different IP address each time you log in.

Cookies allow for eb/pp to see you account as being from the same computer all the time - looks more stable

do you already have a carrier and plan to switch to wind for cheaper mobile internet for tethering. If thats the case if you already have fido, rogers or bell call their retention first and try bargaining, they might give you 1 or 2 gb for same $35 in existing carrier and you wont have to shift to wind.

I find this almost impossible by my method so far. Each time I log in I have a different IP Tethering (I always log them & never Re-Use the same IP)

To have a static (constant ip address?) - wouldn't I then require a constant ip address dongle per each account?

This statement confuses me. I thought Amazon was more keen on a constant IP

Constant IP is not key - just make sure IP does not overlap

The tmobile rocket 4g 3.0 is the best dongle on the market. tmobile offers a 3GB 4g mobile broadban plan for $30. I doubt youll ever use more than that. The speeds are super fast, much faster than wired broadband and you get a new ip address everytime you disconnect the reconnect. Be very careful buy phpne data plans that you want to tether. 99% of the cellular companies out there montior this and will restrict your account right away. I have tried all the prepaid data options out and this is by far the best plan out. Prepaid Cell Phone Plans, No Credit Check | Monthly 4G | T-Mobile

i bought a rogers sierra wireless rocket stick. i use a exceel sheet to keep track of IP addresses for my 2 stealth accounts with their respective windows users

the stick is great, fast, and it is connected to my family plan which has 12gbs but for ebay and paypal thats more than enough =)

i just unplug it wait few mins plug it back in and gives a new ip=)
