I wanted to know if you go to your site preferences page on ebay and change the settings to limit 1 item per customer every 10 days, do i also need to go and change the setting on the actual listing itself (the block buyers settings at the bottom of each ebay listing page where you can limit how many items a customer can buy, prevent buyers with unpaid item strikes, block buyers with neg feedback, etc)?
I ask because i use Inkfrog for making and revising my listings, and it doesnt have the option to limit 1 item per customer, so i have to change the setting directly through the listing on ebay. But then when i use inkfrog to revise that listing, it undoes my preference to allow 1 item per customer and i have to keep logging on through ebay.com and change it back through the listing.
So i wanted to know if i have the 1 item per customer set on my site preferences, does it matter what the settings are for each individual listing?

you can block buyers yourself, but only eg. they bought from you and you now want to block them for whatever reason....
you can exclude countries on listings
but ebay will not pre-empt and do the blocking eg.to block zero feedbackers

Why would you want to limit buyers to one item?

I always thought the only way to do something like that would be to add a quantity of 1 to a listing every time it gets a sale.

Yes i know you can add buyers toa blocked list, exclude countries, etc. but i am talking about limiting 1 item per customer. It is useful if you sell expensive items to prevent scammers from buying everything, or competitors from buying all your inventory and leaving you multiple negs, among some other uses.

There is a setting deep inside ebay to limit the quantity I just don't remember where it is. I'll have a look when I get a chance.

Because i found that one, i just want to know if after setting the limit there, i can then ignore whatever the settings are for each listing.
For example, If in my site preferences i have it set to allow 1 purchase per buyer, but in the bottom of the listings it is set to allow all buyers to purchase as much as they want, then which setting would ebay use when buyers are making purchases ?

I've never seen an option to limit sold quantities in site preferences or when editing a listing. Screenshot?

Yes I have the setting to limit buyers to 1 item in both the Site Preferences on my account page and in the Create Listing page at the bottom.
I want to know if setting this limit in the Site Preferences account page will over-ride the setting on the Create Listing Page.
Because whenever I go on InkFrog and revise a listing that has the setting to limit buyers to 1 item, it gets changed back to allow buyers to purchase any quantity.
So I want to know: If I just change the settings in the Site Preferences of my Account page to limit 1 buyer per item, does it matter what the settings within the create listing page are set to?
I am currently trying on all my listings to set the limit to 1 through the Site Preferences option, and from there I will see if it works after revising from InkFrog

You could easily do a test buy from one of your other accounts and find out...

You could easily do a test buy from one of your other accounts and find out... | Yeah I set the limit to 1 item per buyer on all my stealth accounts from the Site Preferences area, and left the setting alone within the listings. So far I have not had any sales from buyers buying multiple items, so it appears to be working. It seems whatever the setting is from the Site Preferences will override any other settings within the listings. I'll let you guys know if anything changes.
Thanks for the feedback guys!
