Default Selling on eBay

I was wondering how many of you have just always sold the same 'niche' things or similar things for your entire time on eBay and how many of you just sell things that are 'in' at the time?

Both works petty good. Just different accounts.

Some have a good niche that I wouldn't want to risk ratings to those accounts with the "in thing"... If it does well and lasts then I may add more items or try the next "in thing" on other accounts.

Some accounts are known to sell say X-Widget and often does make sense to mix in Z-Widget with my customers.

Niche and similar here. Feel a little better dealing with things I know about or have dealt with in the past.

I sell in 2-3 different niches but I'm always open to anything that sells.

How many accounts do you spread your selling across?

How long did it take you to get up to 25 accounts? Did you let them all age for at least 30 days?

I'm currently at 5 accounts and working my way up. Taking it nice and slow.

I sell on all of them certain items that are low value.....So I start with 1 account.....once I sell a set amount, I move on to the next and do the same, and so on and so on.

I mean how long did it take you to create 25 accounts? Just wondering if I need to step up how fast I'm doing things.

Sorry to slightly jack your thread sir. Let me add some value.

I usually sell whatever is low risk and makes good profit. I stay away from the hot items because there is usually too much competition to make it worth your time. The competitors will also use dirty tactics to get your listing taken down more times than not.

Just do thorough research and you'll find plenty of great items to sell that are low risk, high margin, mid to low competition.

Have niche accounts and multi item accounts. Don't limit yourself.

The thing I struggle with is I really dont want to buy a bunch of stock and then have it sit and not be able to sell. Its just really hard in the beginning not knowing where to start with stock quantity etc especially if you arent selling in huge bulk its hard to make good money in the beginning unless you are selling items with a large profit.

It's definitely possible. That's actually how I started. I didn't have much money to really invest. I think my first investment on product was $500. Made it back within a week and was up $350. Most people say take a percent of that and reinvest back into your business but I took the whole $850 and put it back into my business. I am a young guy so I have a high tolerance for risk but then again I was confident in my product research.

Basically product research is what's going to make or break you. You can't slack here. It does take a while most times. I will literally go through eBay and click each category to see what's selling (that's one way of finding product to sell). There are so many products to go through and many opportunities for you. A product you see that has sold multiple times on the same day may be something you want to look into or it may give you an idea of a similar product to sell. You will start to see you don't need a whole lot of money to buy your first order of product (assuming you know where to buy your product from).

Again product research is SO important. Research everyday. All day if you can lol.

It's so much more to this. Too much to write lol but I hope this gets your brain going.
