2 weeks old Stealth account. Got the message below today. Can't list... Should I call them?
In order to keep eBay a safe and trustworthy environment, we regularly review marketplace activity. As part of our review, we've temporarily placed a selling hold on your account. This hold will prevent you from listing new items.

The complete step-by-step guide to get back to selling today!
I literally JUST had this issue on a stealth account today. Account is a month old and it's only listed/sold one item. Was nervous but figured I'd give it a shot. Called in, played dumb and confused as to why I got the error, and then a sigh of relief. Rep had me try reposting over the phone twice and the second time the new item I wanted to post went ahead and posted. Thanked the rep and the call was over.
Calling in can be nerve racking but sometimes it's necessary. As mentioned by the other user, do have to account info handy as they will want to ask/confirm a one or two things.
If you have the original phone I recommend you have that handy also. A friend of mine had this problem a few months ago and the rep said something like "we just need to call you back to make sure the account hasn't been compromised". I spoofed the number to call in so that account is now gone.

Hello i have a same problem tell me please what kind of details they wanted from you. wanna be ready before i gonna call them thaks a lot waiting for your reply.
I ended calling eBay and was able and the rep was able to fix the issue over the phone. Now its all good.
Just out of curiosity....how did the phone conversation with the rep go? Any of you who experienced this?
I stated above I had two of my accounts dinged with this on the same day. I haven't called in yet because I have a number of other accounts doing fine. However, I'd like to clear them soon.
I haven't had to call into eBay on something like this since MC010 about 6 years ago. I'm usually good at staying under the radar.
Don't want to get tripped up on something simple. Just need the basic account info or do I need to get ready to submit docs? Other people would probably appreciate the info as well.
Thanks man. I mean in general. I've been around here for 10 years. Mostly lurking. Seems people don't post as much anymore. Maybe just my perception. Love the forums tho. Before this place existed it was complete solo trial and error. Just wish people were more active. I know fernando wasn't the only one effected by this.
An update. I called in on one of my two accounts. They tried to run my info through public records and the answer came up as "none of the above". The agent did not accept this and wants documents. Will have to see how this plays out further. Just wanted to update.

Just your perception - this forum is active and knowledgeable as ever
@OP
yes, call ebay
they will ask general questions about what your plans are and the items(s) you are selling. it is usually very straight-forward and easy to go through.
if they try to ask personal database questions, then just make an excuse to get of the phone and call back later

I suppose most agents don't check previous notes left huh?

There is very little chance they will find you in the database if you are using a f a k e name...most likely they will find nothing and ask you to provide ur previous address...
So, I called back. Got another person on the phone and had a whole sob story ready. By the end of the call, not only was the account reinstated but my listings were raised 400%. Not bad huh? Actually, both accounts are back in biz again. It helps to sound confident, confused, and be nice. At the end of the day, they are people too.
