My experience completely opposite---EMS package seized---Dhl....hundreds no problems. Still if you deal in Vero, matters not the carrier---it will Always be high risk....Customs is really cracking down---if you must receive these items, 1 box shipped at a time is best---never say 3 boxes as they will state...1 of 3 boxes and this raises customs alerts---too much incoming at one time to be say, "Personal Use" and they think you are avoiding proper taxation due to low value marked on items to avoid proper costs.
Not sure what you mean DHL not delivering in the states, I live in US and continue to use them regulary.
And yes, it will only say "Customs Clearance Complete" from my experience.....doesn't mean you are getting it tho---if seized, all info. will stop there--they completed and decided to take it. The next update after that should indicate the next step....like moved to next center for delivery---out for delivery or with delivery carrier. When you see that, you know it is for sure through customs and on its way....,but not until you see that next tracking update can you be sure.
