What is my selling limit?

My account on ebay is 40 days old. I want to start selling items. How many can i sell per week? How does the limit change as my feedback goes up?

imjustme 11-23-2010 07:10 PM

Nobody knows. You will find out when you're limited. Most likely 10 items for at least the 1st month, possibly for the first 3 months.

This is a question only ebay can answer.

Let us know :)

The limitation rule have applied since Oct. one of my account is $1000 or 100 items, one is $10,000 or 1000 items. ebay sent me email stated they will review accounts after 30 days.

You mean this

Attention sellers:

Alert!

As a new seller you’ve reached the selling limit for the number of items you can list in this category. This means you won't be able to complete this listing right now, but you may still be able to list other types of items in other categories. You'll be able to list more items in this category in 30 days.

Account privileges for new sellers are limited until they establish a good track record with us and their buyers. These limits help us make sure all new sellers meet their buyers' needs in categories where buyers have higher expectations.

Once you've been a seller for more than 90 days and you establish a good track record with your buyers, you may have your limits evaluated.

Summary

If you are a new seller to eBay, there are some restrictions to the number of items you can sell.
1.
You have selling allowances which restrict the total number of items you can sell in a month. Learn more about selling allowances
2.
When listing items in selected categories, you'll only be able to list a few items at a time

Starting out small allows you to become familiar with eBay and our selling practices policy. It gives you time to get used to selling and delivering the level of customer service you need to succeed on eBay. This way, you'll be able to establish a positive selling history before listing larger quantities.

Once you've have a proven track record of providing excellent customer service and following eBay's rules and policies, these restrictions will be automatically removed from your account.

Limits when selling in selected categories

Some categories have a limit on the number of items you can list in that category in a 30-day period. Once you've reached it, you'll get a message explaining that you'll need to wait till the next 30-day period to begin before you can list in that category again.

You may be able to remove the category limits on your new account if you have another established selling account on eBay. The established account must meet these requirements:

*

You've been a registered seller for at least 90 days
*

You don't have any unresolved buyer complaints or cases
*

Your detailed seller ratings (DSRs) are at least 4.6 in all areas

If you meet all of the above, contact us and provide:

*

User IDs for both accounts
*

Details on how your accounts are linked (Eg employer, spouse or partner)

Policy compliance for all sellers

eBay is committed to reducing fraud and negative buying experiences on the site. In order to maintain safety in the marketplace and instil confidence in buyers, all sellers must comply with eBay policies. In addition to selling allowances, there may be other restrictions affecting sellers and you should take time to review these policies.

as i know, ebay will increase the limit if you have a good DSR for every week, so ebay will review and update your account every week...:)
and as i know to if you have a 20+ feedback you have limit for 100qty, like me,,:D

and im sorry if my english bad,,,:D:peace:

shogun1 11-26-2010 01:54 PM

20 feedbacks gives you 100 instead of 10? can anyone confirm this?

GTB 11-26-2010 02:32 PM

@isitworththestress i dont think they are on about that kind of selling limit bud!
that limit is just for that one catagory....

isitworththestress 11-27-2010 01:34 PM

Nope if you sell in any of them they all count as one category
So if you sold ten sunglasses then you cant go on to sell ten bags, but you could sell fifty boots
So the funny part is if you want to sell things not in any of those categories and they just let you list them.

Which is telling me the problem is with the buyers in those categories rather than the sellers. Either that are the sellers in those categories are constantly attacking each other with the ebay complaints

holymoly 11-27-2010 09:00 PM

Bickering or a case of massive v-ERO in those catagories!

in my case, yes sir, and then DSR sir, this very influential, ebay will show your DSR after you have 10 selling feedback so keep your DSR not below 4.8, because thats the minimum recuirement on ebay.com...:)
