How long do ebay "not as described" disputes stay open?
 

I'm new here and I have attempted to search but perhaps couldn't come up with the right terms. I have read extensively and this seems like a great community.

I can't seem to find the answer to this situation:
1. Sold item on ebay, received money with paypal
2. Buyer opened a "not as described" dispute with ebay causing my a hold placed for that $$ in paypal
3. I respond to dispute telling buyer to return item for a refund
4. Buyer has not returned merchandise

How long does a dispute stay open before it closes automatically and paypal releases the funds hold?

Welcome to the forum. Stays on hold until Paypal has made their decision. Buyer will have to have tracking on the package.

Paypal/Ebay allow a Buyer a Period of time to get the Item shipped back to you,,The Kicker is that Ebay/Paypal also have a "Grace Period" for Buyers that they will not tell you about, once 30 Days has passed Since the Buyer was supposed to send the Item Back to you with No tracking Number or Tracking information you should have No Problem Contacting Ebay/Paypal and Gettingf them to Close the Dispute

I got this automated email:

This case was automatically closed because the maximum amount of time a case can remain open has been reached. You don't need to do anything else. The hold on this PayPal transaction has been removed.

The time has been exactly 30 days
