Activity: 0% Longevity: 59% | | 100/5000 limit on my new account
Hi guys,
I had one of my stealth account aged about 33 days, then I started listing my item yesterday. My account limit indicates 100 / $5000, which is good. However, all my other stealth accounts were like 10/$1000 at first (all aged over 30 days before listing), and I built them up for about 3 month to reach 100 / $5000.
Do you guys know why i got 100/$5000 right after my first listing for this account?
Any comments?
Thanks.

Ebay has no reasoning to their account limits increased, a lot of random things happen

As you make more accounts you will notice even bigger raises , sometimes 0 feedback and one sale. I had a raise to 350/15000, just 6 days after creation before

I've had a lot of accounts go from 10/$1,000 to 30/$3,000 within days, had a few then go from 30/$3,000 to 200/$7,000....I do have clues on what is causing it but can't share! lol.

Random luck. It still does not matter. If you do something to go off the eBay algorithm you will still get the MC999.
Still a nice give me. Make sure you start off with lots of low risk items and build up the account nice a solid.

When you have more than 1 account does that mean you need more than 1 credit card and paypal accounts?

I just made TRS and I still have 130/5000 limit. I was hoping after TRS they would release or increase limits.

Thanks. | Can you share a little info of what you list on that account at first? Is it expensive?

Originally Posted by ricky084 Do you guys know why i got 100/$5000 right after my first listing for this account? | I have my own methods which consistantly get my accounts to the 100/$5000 limit well within a 30 day time period, however I have noticed for no particular reason eBay sometimes increases my limits for some accounts quicker than others. It appears to be random, but I figure that there must be something within eBay's algorithms that deems some of my accounts more trustworthy than others despite all of my accounts are created using the same process.
I have found it often has a lot to do with what type of items you start out selling as to how quickly you get an increase.
I have also found that an increase to 20/1000 is NOT GOOD because it is a sign that eBay does not trust the account with a larger increase. Nowadays, all of my accounts are increased from 10/500 to 100/5000 in a single increase.

@ebayanarchy
Hmmm, interesting. So you're saying that it's a type of item you list to get the 100/5000 huh. Now you're getting me thinking.

Now you're getting me thinking. | Yes, most definitly - the type of item that you list can make a huge difference. To clarify, it isn't any one particular item or another. Anything will do provided that it isn't seen as risky by eBay. Too many sellers make the mistake of trying to increase their limits whilst selling items deemed 'risky' by eBay.
The trick is to list list items that are LOW VALUE and LOW RISK (as far as eBay is concerned).
Best avoid anything over $30 or any VERO items whilst trying to increase limits. I usually sell items within the $1 - $12 range. This assists in getting good feedback, limits removed and most importantly it is a factor in having a limits increase.
