Default Help! Competition is playing dirty!

I got an order today and it's someone wanting to play games with me that's for sure.

0 FB, acc 3 days old, and other details that are making this fact unquestionable.

He already payed. Do i have any options from here on?

Either offer a refund and come up with a good reason or send the item out tracked with signature.

Why is the fact that they are competition unquestionable?

Thanks for the fast reply, i've looked into all possibilities i could think about .

If im getting screwed im getting screwed.

Only thing left is to do everything on my part and see it through the end

Problem is if that neg is coming my way i got nothing to stop it.

Why would someone go through all that effort in creating a new account, getting access to an address to have item posted to, opening a new bank account and so on just to leave you a neg? I'm not saying it don't happen but I think any decent and successful seller on eBay has better things to do, if someone is doing this to you it's very rare and not much you can do about it apart from like James said make sure you send it tracked, and if they do then leave a neg I would contact eBay about it and explain to them what you think has happend, then if eBay do follow it up and there's any link between the new account that left you a neg and another account that is selling same items to you, then eBay will hopefully ban that persons account and remove the neg from your account, that's all you've got to hope for really.

also I've had a few people in the past buy from me with zero feedback and account very new, I kept an eye on it and turned out they were just new buyers who have just joined eBay, so let's hope this is the case again.

You can Send the Item Signature Reqired as was indicated above, also how do you know it is a Competitor, do you Know what his selling account Usermname is?,,,If so, take a Page out of the Bible,,,"Do unto others, as they would do unto you",,,also you can contact him on his selling account, and tell him that if you figured out that he created another account to buy from you, what makes him think that Ebay won't be able to, especially with a little "Help" from you, Just let him know that the only this ends is BAD,,,for Him

I have zero feedback new buyers almost everyday with several durring the tax return season and holiday sales peak. once they figure out how to use ebay, communicate, pay, etc... they often are my best repeat buyers.

0bitus I would also wait before shipping out - it is possible that his payment will fail...just wait a bit (fyi - IF indeed he is a potential scammer) - why dont you write to him and feel him/her out?

I haven't seen any options for requiring signature confirmation on international packages, only domestic, i will inquire with the post office. Thanks

We had a quick chat, he was raping the English language, not making much sense, being a little hostile, demanding fast shipping. I've never had payments fail, after looking successful at first, how is this done?

I cannot tell you the countless times that I have felt the same way with a new buyer. I have always shipped it out, and I have not had any problems. In the end, it was me being paranoid.

This is not to call you paranoid, but maybe you should think about the fact that he may have searched what he was looking for on google and you came up on ebay's site. That could be the reason why he created the account.

If I was in your position, I would also not feel comfy due to the non tracking once it leaves your country. And I would also feel like I was potentially getting scammed. I absolutely hate int'l shipping to some countries w/o tracking.

You have to understand that ebay sells overseas, people in the world dont always speak English.

I can speak Spanish but not let me write it, I will "rape" the Spanish language in both holes. Or maybe the buyer was using Google translater, which is known not to be very good.

Or maybe the person has some kind of language problems. I was born with Asperger's syndrome, which makes my writing kinda poor and my spelling skills even worse but I make do with it in everyday life.

Has your only contact been via ebay messages

I am looking towards turning this around in your favour......

2 words for you " 100% scammer". why?
1. first purchase can NOT be a huge amount.
2. inter' buyer usually buys one item and it can be in quantity to lower shipping cost, but no reason why he'd want to buy everything you have.

Are all three items in the same category? What I mean is it not uncommon for one buyer to use all three of your items?

I've had orders for 2 items, 3 in maybe just one occasion for a buyer with reputation, who was negotiating a lot beforehand, this one did not negotiate, just placed the order. He also combined the shipment, so he is not a newbie.
I guess the option where he is leaning more towards normality does not need to be discussed, i would be sending the goods and being passive on what happens next.

It would be helpful if you gave your opinion on the other scenario, where the disturbing information is placing the buyer to be 'too risky' to deal with. What options would a seller have to proactively safely diffuse the situation in this case?

Originally didn't mention international either.

there are screens for buyers you can put on your listings that involve # of purchases, feedback scores, and a coupe others. You can also make your listings so that you do not ship to certain overseas areas. If you choose to ship internationally, you have to accept the risk that comes with it.

What dollar value are you talking about here? That is also important as to how much time and effort I would put into it. I don't know how many times I have just bitten the bullet on $30 items just becasue I didn't have time for the hassle. Other times I would fight tooth and nail for less money. Only because I had time ti fight it in some cases and not in others.

I have had a buyer screw with me once. It must have been someone upset with me because they created the account supposedly bought an item so they had one feedback and bought from me. Well, they left me negative feedback. Since then I looked at their feedback and there has been no activity since!!! So yes, it is possible for them trying to post a negative on your account.

Trash buyers - block and move on - this happens - spread sales to other accounts and keep below the radar
