Default Lots of Top Rated Sellers Status Gone

Well, I've been a top rated seller for more than a year. As of yesterday, despite my 100% POSITIVE feedback, I am only "Above Standard" (3.21%).

My position is still the same as before, because all of my competitors who were also TRS are no longer lol.

It's going to be near impossible to be a TRS, and even if you are, it won't last long in my opinion.

I'm just glad I can still sell without issues

I also realized my TRS accounts and aged accounts were getting lost in the search and on the 3 rd page or further

This happened all of a sudden back in March and I just figured the item I was selling was no longer popular and was putting them up for auction because bin listings wouldn't sell

So auctions sold 100% but at $20 less than normal

Than I listed the same item on a new account and it sold within a few hours, I listed another on a new account 0 feedback raised the price, and again it sold, I ended up getting more than normal and being able to get the first listings with a new account and my TRS accounts the listings were lost

So I'm done going nuts to keep that little symbol next to my user ID, eBay obviously is doing everything they can to eliminate sellers and definitely making it impossible to maintain a TRS account

Now I just keep making new accounts and spread sales as thin as possible and I'm getting the top spots, selling at a higher price

When u look like you are an occasional seller u are not noticed by eBay and buyers are not as harsh when they think this is your business

Now I just focus on new accounts and I'm making more and avoiding these ridiculous new standards, selling a few items a month on one account flies nice and low out of everyone's radar , but I pick the right items that will make me good profit and things are a lot better

No sense going against the grain, it's hopeless , eBay doesn't want TRS accounts anymore or small sellers making a living on there platforms , so adjust , and operate under darkness

I agree with Dmshark25 - Stuff that would have been lost on my TRS account, sells quickly on a fairly new account, it's crazy.

My only guess is that eBay try and suck in new sellers and make them think it's really easy to sell, so they then sign up for a shop and buy stock and get stuck in the eBay cycle of doom!

ebay has opened up a can of worms with these new defect ratings..
If a buyer gives you 3 stars or less on your DSR that effects your defect rating which in turn effects your damn TRS standing..

I wonder how you can survive from this change? I know one of my competitions has two accounts and 100% feetback and they remove all the negative feedback somehow but no idea how. But they have a bunch of neutrals so maybe they won't last also cause neutral feedback will hurt them also with defects of getting 1's, 2's, 3's.

Looking at this from a Non-TRS account holder.....I've never had a problem selling my items, not in Auction style nor BIN style....I know there are other perks with TRS but it seems like its more work to keep that TRS than it's worth.

Even TRS at times get 0 sales in a month and non-TRS accounts get 20 sales. And I only run 2 BIN per account.

The system is really weird if you ask me. No idea why but ebay keeps changing things making it harder and harder on sellers over the years.

I really want to get into Amazon. I think I will in the next few months for sure.

I completely agree with the first line of statement above. I have mentioned this a couple of times.

WHat I noticed is that TRS has been practically a similar thing to powerseller.
It didn't make sense to have one and I've been paying attention to it for a year at least.

With the "buyer asking a questions which opens a dispute automatically", "and now it counts as a defect", "ridiculous DSR scores" , I foresaw this happening with the TRS logos.

In fact, I'm rather glad I don't have it since it didn't make a difference to me

I sell old items auction style and I haven't ever had a problem not being a TRS...I've had a few accounts that were for a while, and it didn't change anything one way or another. I agree with MM......seems like a lot of grief for nothing?

I always thought that TRS "badge" was a giant bulls eye. Buyers assume you will move Heaven and Earth to accommodate them. And it seems they pick on my TRS accounts more often... knowing that I will try to maintain the status by working with them.

That 20% discount on FVF is great, but it comes with a lot of headaches.

My fees are so small, 20% is nothing.

I think eBay now is trying to make the TRS applicable to much bigger sellers who can actually maintain that badge.

Another seller here giving up the run for TRS.

On some of my accounts, I am struggling to keep my nose above the water.

As long as I make some profit, let the game continue.

I cannot see EB keeping the defects going like this. There are lots of things that seem like they are hurting themselves as well. Everything has its own ripple effect. EB is a business, and they are here to make money 1st.

I do auctions exclusively, always word everything like a noob. But always ship and reply like a pro. Never had a problem with sales and people actually seem to be a little bit more forgiving since Im "new" at the whole thing. As for eBay, I really wish I knew (for sure) what they are trying to accomplish with all this?

Angry Re: Lots of Top Rated Sellers Status Gone

I have been top rated 100% positive feedback for over a year and now above standard. If EBay thinks that this is going to help keep buyers coming back, they are wrong. It is going to drive sellers away.

The same reason is because buyers open cases needlessly. Item not as described. When the item leaves the warehouse in a VERY well designed, high quality and packed expertly condition and the carrier (FEDEX) destroys the package, the buyer opens a case- "ITEM NOT AS DESCRIBED" I guess not, FEDEX has beat it all to xxxx (and I mean numerous per month) we as a whole ship an average of 12,000 items a day! Shipping is open 24 hrs a day 5 days a week. Buyers do not have an option "ITEM DESTROYED BY CARRIER"

To continue: EBay changes things to protect buyers and the sellers get the shaft!!! When your company gives EBay SEVERAL HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS A YEAR they will miss that when you realize that Amazon is a GREAT OPTION AND OPENING SEVERAL online stores cuts that MIDDLE MAN right out, feedback, seller ratings and all the other OVER-PRICED GARBAGE go's right out the window. Of course, you need to handle your online stores with the same HIGH standards as you do on EBay, however, your not having unjustified, continuous changes that are BUYER FRIENDLY and SELLER NIGHTMARES.

It is going to be UNJUSTIFIED CASES opened by buyers that is going to cause sellers to move on down the road. It will not be long before a group of investors are going to "swoop in" and take a big chunk of EBay away and it is going to be EBays own fault. Do they even realize that there is hundreds of thousands if not millions of buyers that REFUSE TO USE EBAY because of their practices.

They do not realize that it is a double edged sword that they are messing with when they make these BUYER FRIENDLY - SELLER NIGHTMARE decisions that bite them in the rump, when they are trying to draw in and keep buyers. They have never crawled out of that box and taken a wide angle view of what they are doing to themselves. That's all I have to say. The rest will come out when they see their bottom line dropping and dropping!

I think we are all in the same boat and of the same mind on this subject. Gonna be interesting to see what comes of all this and eBay's response.
