will ebay link your account by similar IP range?

I had a few of my accts banned from ebay, they r selling similar products but not exactly identical listings. everything else is different, sames, address etc.
But I use ATT tethering which would result in similar IPs everytime, do you think this contributed to the suspension? any input is appreciated.

I highly doubt it is ip only lots of people have similar ips even if they are 100.100.100.001 .002 .003 .004 .005

they are unique,I have also read the book. I am not sure if you know what I mean, the phone tethering gives new ip everytime, but they are all highly similar, say 101.66.33.15 and 101.66.33.35. would this result in any problem?

Same IP range? At this time it hasn't been a linking factor as everyone has an eBay/PayPal account and uses similar ranges.

Something else is linking your accounts.

That said try a different internet connection.

When you say the listings across accounts are not EXACTLY identical, what does that mean?

Are there links in the listings? I'm not talking about a link that you click on, but more about using the same wording, or photographs, etc.

Are your items considered "high-risk" by eBay?

Sometimes accounts get shut down for reasons that have nothing to do with linking. Like when someone has 10 accounts and is trying to sell the P90X, or box sets of DVD's and the accounts get closed. They believe something may have linked them, but is more likely the ITEMS BEING SOLD that got the account shut down. I'm not saying this is what happened in the OP's case, I just trying to narrow this down so we can find out what went wrong.

I hear this same listing stuff so I did a little test, I went through and used keywords and kept adding them until I got to only 25 listings and I was up to 30 keywords using the quotes for exact match and could have probably went 50 more and still had 20 or so. Example a video game there are 1000s upon 1000s of identical listings from all different sellers. I do not believe in this as an only limiting factor. I have had accts limited and tur b ed around listed darn near the exact listings with the same photos just exif cleaned

I'm sure that a great many listings use the same keywords. And enough people grab photos from searching Google that I'm sure a few of them (at least) are using pictures that other sellers are also using.

But sometimes a link is created due to an account having more than one similarity. For example, the photo creates a link and then they see a similar IP address and also that the seller is using the same bank, or whatever else and it red flags the account. Remember, eBay does NOT NEED proof-positive to close an account - they can close it based on having enough similarities that eBay BELIEVES it is the same person.

Which is why it is IMPERATIVE to make sure each of your stealth accounts has as many differences as possible. I use a separate PC for each stealth user I create (that is 1 eBay, 1 PayPal, 1 Amazon and a couple of others), I use different banks, different internet connections, different cities (they can be in the same general area), different browsers, different OS's, different email providers, and anything else I can think of.

I try my best to ask myself, if I were in eBay's security department, would *I* think the accounts were for the same person? I say "try my best" because sometimes it is hard to be objective. But my system works well, I lose very few accounts.

Of course, it is NOT NECESSARY to use a different PC for each account, or a totally separate ISP. I'm just saying what works for ME.

that s very impressive, but wont apply to me coz I have more than a dozen accounts. I think the ip range along wont be any factor, but once something else raised any flag and a ebay take specific look into the accounts the ip range matters.as of now I do not know any easy solution of having more different IPs so I guess I can only be more cautious and make the listing more different(different pics n description etc).thx guys.

I beg to differ.

If you have that many accounts with a similar range, you are running a high risk of being flagged.

If your accounts get reviewed manually, they have a risk of being caught.

This is based on many many hours talking to others about the reasons for suspension.

A dozen accounts & a similar range of IPs = flags= danger.

We know 1000% ebay/paypal/amazon look for similarties.

Never do that with stealth.

thanks so do you mind me ask how could you obtain completely different IPs? I use phone tethering and its very easy. the only other way I know is changing the mac address of the router but that is a hefty amount of work if more than a few accts.

A lot of people tether and the range is close. I think lots of people face this and just keep rolling with close ranges, I agree it is not ideal but I believe many many stealthers have to do it.
