Default Bit of a messy one

I'm after some advice...

Buyer bought an item. I sent it.

Then I receive a message 'Item not recieved' the tracking shows the item was left behind their wheelie bin. The buyer claims there is nothing there.

Anyway, he emails me through his personal email today, saying his ebay has been hacked so he asked ebay to close it. I checked, his user ID is NARU.

Any advise welcome as It smells a bit fishy, but on the other hand perfectly reasonable. The item cost is circa £50 so not something I want to refund lightly.

Thankyou!

So long as the tracking states delivered, you'll be fine.

The fact he is NARU is a bonus as he'll not be able to leave feedback.

I agree.

I wouldn't refund unless you legitimately believed what he had said. The part about EB being hacked. You need to hear that from EB instead of the NARU before believing it. He may be a NARU because he was scamming people and got caught.

From what you (OP) said in the post, I would not issue him a refund.

I totally agree. No refund. If they open a case, provide the tracking information. It seems to me that you SHOULD be covered under seller protection.

The fact that they are trying to blame you and not screaming at the shipping company as far as I know with limited knowledge. Makes me believe this is a scammer.

personally I do not class behind a wheelie bin as as delivered sorry, that is pathetic....I would make a claim from shipper for this....

if the tracking just said delivered, it would be ok, that is confirmation, no need for signature unless high value but the fact they said wheelie bin, makes it a grey area for disputes....a safe place is like a screened porch or neighbour etc...

I conpletely agree.

However the buyer has since been naru'd, claiming fraudulant activity on their account.

It doesn't really add up.

Sounds like he knew his account was in trouble and made a last ditch effort to get something for free.

Or

He's done it so many times that ebay is tired of him

One of the fun things about this forum is reading different expressions, references, and slang from other countries.

Wheelie Bin: (AKA) Trash Can with wheels...
