After years of selling, you can figure things out pretty easy. And can know when things are naturally occurring, and when something else is happening. And having sales go from skyrocketing, to STOPPED within hours, is not naturally occurring.

Just about the only good thing to come out of this, is that it seems other peoples are also having this issue, which means auctions are going to have less buyers and less competition. So I'm gonna snag up so great deals to cover my losses

I am at a stand still on sales across amazon/ebay. It will pick up after halloween.
yeah but see, that's the thing. the first 10 days of October has been more sales then I've ever experienced. I was projected to DOUBLE my sales from the previous months.

I actually have another ebay, that sells watches, and my sales on there have gone up and are still going up. But my main account, which has the most items, is stalled. I'd love to know ebays unique visitors day by day to see what's actually happening.

Only fixed price listings. If it were auctions, I'd be in even more trouble. I might not be getting sales, but at least I"m not having to sell at cheap prices. Only option I have is to go back through all my messages and push some people to buy stuff.

Do what needs to be done to generate profit. Sometimes VOLUME is just as good as just having high profit margin per item...

Depends on the items. I've been offering some discounts lately for a little volume. My stuff tho requires some actual labor on my part, so I can be a little reluctant to discount too much. And I'm limited in how many of the items I have, how many buyers I can find. It's an interesting balancing act. I was selling quite a lot, so I didn't care enough to discount anything, or to push people hard to buy

I hear you james...the competition can be tough and labour + time...is limited. Research new products perhaps...if you can

I agree. This is something else. Perhaps, our listing doesn't reach to many people as it's used to do in the past.

When i search my listing on ebay , it comes up on first page but maybe different countries have different visibility settings now. Who knows..

On the other hand, it can be shrinking economicy as it was suggested above.

On June 2014, I was selling 10-16 items least but now i can barely sell 1 - 3.

Well, to test my theory, I bid on something I'm used to buying. Got it for half the price I was expecting it to go for.

For the love of god does everybody ignore what I say on here now these days?

What don't you all not understand? IF there is no TRAFFIC and it dropped this is what happens. Less customers = less sales. Go read on the ebay forums it self of people use to do $1 Million a year or $100k a month now down to $5k a month in sales.

There was an article that shows that google pulled ebay due to bad SEO tatics.

I mean you can do all the tactics you like if there is no traffic how do you expect to sell? Then explain how some days you sell like 50 items then it's slow for the next 10 days and not like before. They are shuffling people in the search engine trying to give everyone a chance. It's bad enough when you got stores.

The only ones who seem to make a profit is those who sell phakes on ebay I noticed by viewing. And those scammers who got inside tides who remove their feedback and sell phake products to their customers lying I found a good one this month also. It's just unreal how far people go for the greed of money. I can spot out the stealths easily. Newer registered dates, and the items they sell and how professional they sound on there. Like they are a 10 year veteran and know the system very well. These ones I've noticed doing good but their accounts don't last long. Or those who post their 100 items on the first of the month selling foo foo's. I just roll my eyes at this no joke.

Anyways here is your traffic.

ebay traffic report

amazon traffic report

Any questions? Once this drops even lower as it has then yeah.

I don't even tell people I sell on ebay because it's a joke to me and it's very embarrassing to even mention. A lot of people know that ebay has a bad rep already.

I am moving to amazon in the next few weeks already and going to start my own site.

I'll let whatever stealths I got running on ebay. But that's about it. Ebay is a joke seriously and their customers are even a bigger joke.

Here is some SEO info for 3 websites.

And like I said foo foo's always sell on ebay cause I noticed real products worth $200 that are legit no one buys from trusted sellers but one that cost $149.99 that's a knock off goes for sell and cost them like $20. And legit stuff cost even more. It's starting to be the next alibaba on there now.

That's just my 2 cents.

Ebay is going down hill and everyone knows ebay is junk it's why amazon is at the top!

Ebay was at the top for years like empires who have dominated for so long.

Remember AOL? Myspace? YAHOO? Yeah they arn't so big anymore, ebay is just another do com who will join these.

The charts you posted don't explain my situation what's so ever. Because based on those charts, my sales should have been dropping like a stone, yet they were going in the complete opposite direction of what your chart is showing. Unless you have a chart showing this months visitors dropping 90% from last month, then I still hold that that is not the reason why my sales went from 5 a day, to 0-1 a day literally over night, and all in a record breaking month for me.

Looks like 2008 all over again. Ebay seemed to turn listings altogether for fixed price listings back in late 2008-2009 No google results then either.

You can try, but from what I've seen, it's a major headache depending on what you're selling. What I'm selling, needs to be approved by amazon. Every single one of my pictures I've ever taken, will need to be retaken. All white background. Specific types of angles, no cropping, no borders. Has to be 100% brand new. Can't sell anything that's used or " with defect" like I can on ebay. Amazon can supplement my sales, but it in NO way can replace them.

I am with ya james12v. I sell more on a good week on ebay than an entire year on Amazon. It all depends on what you are selling and acceptable margins.

And the sad part is this as I noticed with another member on this forum.

Is that the traffic is the same from years ago when it was good for me. And there are no sales hardly with the same amount of traffic from years ago.

Anyone who wants an updated chart or doesn't like mine please feel free to upload your own chart.

I wasn't knocking your chart. Just stating that based on context, it doesn't explain what happened this month out of the blue. My sales were steady and rising despite what the chart shows, so my products seemed immune to the whims of visitor counts. People needed my products and this was the only place to get them. Now, it's like people can no longer find my products.
