I've been looking to add LLC's to 2-3 accounts for a little while now.
I want my accounts to be as "strong" as possible before I add one, and doing some more research I have to pay even MORE fees than I thought.
Apparently when opening a LLC in the city I live in you have to also along with the 400-600 costs of creation you have to PAY more money out YOUR own pocket to list in 2 local newspapers letting the city know what your doing in the "classifieds" running anywhere from 600-2000 dollars.
I can't believe how silly that is espically when I'm running a EBAY business!
Anyone else hear or have to deal with this?

Most blue states are like this. My state is $525.00 just to register with the state, another $400 to the city, then licenses, tax certificates, inspections, etc...
My question is, why are you going to file in your state? Like you said you have an internet business.
I had to advertise too in California. This was for my sole prop. Also had to pay for advertising costs. Might want to look into WI, heard it is quite friendly, but you should really double check whether you want it or not. One account with tax id could still go down, like below standard ratings, your search results won't be found, and your account is pretty much toast. That's after you did all the bureaucratic crap just for one account.
