Re: Whats considered a High/Low Risk Items
Anything heavily counterfeited is considered high risk. Also, expensive items such as jewelry, rare coins, art, rare stamps, etc. Gift cards and financial instruments. Basically, any items that have caused eBay problems in the past.
Gift cards can be obtained through fraud. Box sets of DVD's are heavily counterfeited, as are new releases and classic Disney animated movies. Fitness products sold on infomercials, such as BeachBody and the P90X, Shaun Insanity, etc. Expensive cell phone cases. Apple ANYTHING. Designer clothing.
And not EVERYTHING in a given category is high risk. Try selling Rolex watches and you can expect problems. But you can sell all the Donald Trump watches you want. DVD Box sets will kill an account, but a few old DVD's released 5 or 10 years ago are fine. International text books can be a pain, but books are usually safe. Perfumes are always a problem because of all the knockoffs, but $5 bottles of Old Spice are probably all right. Coach purses, Louis Vuitton ANYTHING, and other expensive stuff are high risk, but no-name purses that cost $15 won't draw attention.
Basically, if it costs you $10 and you can sell it for $90, it is going to cause you problems.
