Default New stealth Ebay, can't post auction

Alright so I haven't sold on ebay in a couple years, set up a new ebay account linked to my well-established stealth PP.

Posted a BIN auction, had to do PIN verification over phone. No issue there.

When I got to the final step to post my auction ($90 BIN item), I got this error message:

It looks like you've reached the number of items and amount you can list. You can list up to 0 items and $0.00 in total sales this month. (Request to list more)

Okay, is this normal?

Clicked on "request to list more," showed the stealth info on the account, I figured this was a check against public database but I clicked continue anyway and of course it did not work.

Not sure what to do next, please give me your suggestions. Thanks

Your going to have issues if the Ebay and PayPal don't match....

At this point all you can do is call ebay to request for higher limits.
But as MM78 stated - since the info on the 2 accounts is not a match youre probably going to run into issues.

So let me ask, You had a well established Paypal that was NEVER attached to an Ebay Account? And Now you made an Ebay Account and attached it to the "Well Established" Paypal?

Correct.

Just wondering if this sort of insta-limiting by ebay is normal?

The limitation you got is a "Category" Limit. Just because you put a new Ebay to an established Paypal does not make the Ebay established as well. You will need to sell on it to eventually remove those limitations.

Which "Category" are you listing in?

Gift card..yep that makes sense.

So sell in another category or let the ebay account age for a while?

I would recommend you sell on the account and get some Sales and Feedback.

Selling gift cards are never safe regardless.

I tried listing an item in a different category (a pair of sunglasses) and got the same message:

"It looks like you've reached the number of items and amount you can list. You can list up to 0 items and $0.00 in total sales this month. Request to list more"

So is this normal for a new ebay account, or is this account toast because I tried to list a gift card as my first auction?

"Request to list more" link requires an ID verification of some sort which won't work as this is a stealth.

Thanks everybody!

The message you got doesn't sound like a category restriction to me, but I'm no expert by any means. It sounds like you've been hit with a hard 0/0 limit.

Anytime I've been hit with a category limit on a new account I get a message from eBay which specifically mentions the category I'm attempting to sell in, and an explanation for why there are restrictions on the category..

Good luck.. May be better off just starting fresh..

Just tried again with a new ebay acct selling some sunglasses

After phone verify and linking the aged paypal account, i was again hit with 0/0 hard limit

The only option given to request raising my limit was to link the ebay to another ebay account with selling history. No option to verify personal info against public database like the last time.

Once again no email from ebay explaining why

Call them like a newbie. It is a common occurrence to have zero limit until you call to verify a few VERY simple steps. Like what are you selling? Where did you get it? Where do you storage it? Don't need! It was a gift! In my desk!

Just be a newbie and have all the stealth info in front of you...

Believe it or not, lately they have been less restrictive now that the hoe is gone and they don't have PayPal to keep them floating.

They didn't ask much about the item I was trying to sell
However they did try to match the stealth info against public DB, nothing came up obviously, after trying to pull up something on the DB a couple times the guy ended up setting my limits at 10/$1000 per month anyway

Thanks bud

People are always much to scared to call. And YES I agree if it is a account in use already with sales there is something then I wouldn't call unless it was a must. Example trying to get HIGHER limits on an account that already has lower limits. This usually prompts the records check. Usually with first time account usage I rarely get public records.

This is only me though and I don't make many new accounts. I usually just buy them from the experts here on the forum.
