Default How is this possible?

I had a buyer request to cancel a sale which I accepted.

He now somehow opened a item not received case 3 days later claiming he didn't get a refund.

For starters its a CANCELLED sale that HE requested. Also I had 3 day handling time with economy shipping. Even if the sale went through, your not supposed to be able to open a case like this until AFTER estimated time of delivery not 3 days after (unless something changed?)

I mean I don't see why they would change that if they did? Some similar stupid glitch happened last month where a buyer opened a item not receive case and EBAY automatically escalated the case 30 minutes after it got opened (which I obviously lost) but won the appeal.

Lmao, eBay amazes me.

yeah sounds like a glitch, you wont be charged twice, thats for sure

Does sound like a glitch. They should not have the ability to open it this soon or at all given the fact the transaction was canceled and the payment was refunded.
Question - does the transaction show as being refunded in your paypal account? might want to check that to be certain. Also, did you get the notification email stating 'you canceled an order'?
Worse case scenario you can call Ebay and straighten it out with them.

I had something similar happen with an unpaid item though. Buyer never paid. I filed unpaid item 48 hours after auction ended. They didn't pay for 4 days after that. I closed the case. They came back a few days later and opened a not received case...stating they paid and that they wanted me to send the item or give them their money back. I was confused...he had an unpaid item strike, I closed the case, and yet he opened a case saying he never received the item. Called ebay and was told the ONLY way they can do that is if they manually mark is as paid on their end. Of course the guy was trying to scam me...I could tell it wasn't his first time doing that crap either. This may be along the same lines as what your buyer did.
