We'll just agree to disagree on this one, because you could just as easily keep your "sold count" by decreasing the quantity to 0. The account of mine I'm referring to has over 40k sales and is a platinum powerseller. I raised the price on this particular listing by $1 one night just to boost my profits. Noticed the next day that sales suffered so I reverted to the old price, but the listing has never done well since. BUT the same listing at the exact same price is getting me upwards of 70 sales per day on another account.
Just putting my experience out there. Selling limits aren't really an issue I deal with, but I do sometimes run low on stock. Reducing a listing's quantity has always served me better than temporarily jacking up the price.
EDIT: Again, this is just my experience. My experience may only pertain to my niche. I wasn't trying to start an argument. None of us know exactly how Cassini operates. For me, it could have been due to the fact I'd sold several hundred of the item before messing with the price. Who knows? I just do what works best for me
