Default How do big sellers cope with this issue??

Buyers tracking shows return was delivered to me but I did not receive anything....how do sellers who sell high value items deal with such situations?

Do they just eat the loss?

They require signature confirmation for expensive returns.

If not though, then yeah they eat the loss. What else can be done?

This.

Its under "one of those things" in my head. Just happens and you deal with it the same way every other big company deals with it- You try to minimize the risk, but you will never totallt eradicate(Big words so early in the morning, heh) it.

I always hit the report buyer button if they do this more than a couple times they will be gone .. Contact the post Office and ask What Happened . I am pretty sure they can check the address on the tracking number you give them . If it was your correct return then raise cain With the Post MASTER. If it wasnt your correct address report it to EB . Just my thoughts

Retailer is the only member that reports having tracking show delivery to his address and not getting the item as far as I am aware. If this keep happening, try a new address of PO box and work on your business systems.

Or you sell in a extremely high risk, small reward market filed with scammers and maybe consider exploring better niches.

I hate to say it but I agree with yankee. Cell phone sellers are the number one target of scammers :/

In response to your question, retailer, have you tried refusing the return if the buyer fraudulently returns a brick? I'm not sure how Ebay would handle such a situation. I know you have the right to inspect packages before you accept them though. Ebay might fault you though if you refuse a shipment, so that may be another catch 22.

To add to what phazOrz said, I get paid and keep the item 100% of the time for ebay buyers who refuse a package. Ebay hates that. I only have that happen a few times a year and always on $1000+ items if I recall correctly.

If you sell on Amazon, it may work though but is a really crappy thing to do to people IMO. Not every return is a scam.
