Default Can buyer still escalate return case even after i approved the return?

Buyer bought an auto part without doing research on part# compatibility. Buyer opens a return case of "it doesn't fit" and I approve the return. Buyer wants me to pay for return and fully refund him.

Does this buyer have the option to escalate this return to eBay customer support after a certain date even though I already approved his return

Yes, then can certainly do that if the fancy takes them, even the very next day, over here in the UK anyway and would think USA same or similar on this issue.

They can escalate but since you approved the return, I don't think eb will really do much - but I have not had this happen with an escalation in spite of return acceptance on my part

This is a case they will side with you...their automated system shows it's on him to pay or shipping, and they go by whatever the system says

I already have 2 cases closed without resolution within the last 12 months. One of them is scheduled to purge off my account on sept 22. I cant afford any more defects. I'm crossing fingers that they side with me since I already approved the return

Why don't you just call them now and ask? Get a not put on your account

how many days has passed since you approved the return?
buyer has 10 days to return, if he doesnt do it within 10 days you can cal ebay and ask them to close it.
