Default Stupid beginner question..

I always wondered why when you accept a return through eBay and you ( the seller) cover the shipping cost, eBay automated message states that you will receive a final value fee credit..I always thought you do not get a final value fee credit if the reason we're the buyer OR the sellers fault for return

It seems only fair that they don't charge you because no one made any money.

I highly doubt anyone will complain to eBay about keeping its fees.

Thanks guys,
So if I sold an item to a customer and they request a return for a reason that was my fault, I still get the final value fee credited that ebay would have originally taken from the sale?
That's awesome!
