So I'm gathering that it is just the lazy mans way of getting a stealth account? Or I guess for new people who aren't tech savvy and don't want to risk getting an accounts connected?

One of the perks is being able to start off with higher than normal selling limits. Most accounts opened these days would start off with limits of 5 items/$500 per month. Through a seller you can buy an accounts with limits of up to 1000 items /$25,000 per month.
Another perk is having the support of the seller.

Some people don't know how to make high Limit Accounts or just too busy to make any, there are many options....don't just assume it's laziness, although it could be a reason also.

There are two main advantages to buying accounts:

1) You can start off with higher limits than you could get on your own.

2) If any problems come up, you will have an experienced person helping you.

There is something to be said for having someone who is experienced in dealing with eBay call in for you if your account gets restricted or suspended. We know what the right answers are and what eBay wants to hear. We know what to say and - more importantly - what NOT to say. We can also give advice on selling on eBay.

Many people start off buying accounts and then start creating their own accounts. And some sellers are very successful with what they are selling and would rather pay someone to create their accounts and deal with any problems, allowing them to concentrate on sales. In my experience, it is these things that my customers are looking for, it is not that they are too lazy to do it themselves.

I was interested in buying an account but I didn't like that you aren't supposed to sell a lot of items on it. spending a few bills on a new account and ip address when you cant recoup that money quickly didn't catch my interest. still in the back of my mind but I need an account that can be built into a trusted looking business. I don't sell low dollar items and people need to be able to trust me.

This is a really blinkered way of looking at things. Irrespective of whether you buy the accounts or create them yourself, you're going to need nurse the accounts to good health over a period of time. Once you've done this, providing you add backup accounts and keep things tight, you won't have to 'start from scratch' ever again.

Focus on sustainable medium to long term gain, rather than looking to bank on day 1 and you'll have a much higher success rate. Ageing an account does not take all that long anyway.

Then you came to the wrong Forum, we aren't going to sugarcoat things...we tell it like it is for your own good. You think we tell people to go slow just to f*ck with them? There's a reason we tell people to go slow. There's always a person like you wanting to sell like they did before they got limited....eventually they see that we are right.

That's what everyone here is doing.....slowly.

If you are able to create high limit accounts then you might not want to pay a couple of hundred for one but if you can't then it's worth it depending on what you are selling.

The problem is that some people have this idea that "Stealth Account" is some miracle account that by some power or voodoo are able to sell the same Quantity and Dollar Amount they were selling just before getting the boot from Ebay/PayPal! and that is simply not how Stealth works.

no I'm sorry If you took what I said wrong I didn't mean they are not a good idea, but my items are a little over 100 bucks each and if I cant list more than a few of those items a month without it being a risk I would just prefer to make my own account and start with the low limit and build it up over time, I just don't get the point of a 25k account if I can only sell a few items on it a month. but trust me I'm still thinking about purchasing an account or 2 so I never fully fall off ebay again, but when you get hit with the paypal 180 day hold and you don't have money you can only work with what you have.

I do a mix of both. Sometimes I forget that I didn't create any last month, things happen, you get busy etc. So just buy an account that's already aged.

You have to start slow either way, if you buy it or make it. So in the end it's just up to you what you need and want.
