Ebay registration thinks gmail is invalid email

Trying to register on ebay with my gmail account

The format is first.last.8888@gmail.com and worked fine with paypal registration. Tried copying and pasting and typing it. Still says invalid email and wont let me register.

Anyone aware of ebay restrictions on gmail accounts and formats?

Are you adding the periods because you've used that same email without the periods before? If so thats not a good idea

When I registered it I used periods, so no changes. I'm either typing exactly from the email address I created or copying directly from gmail. Email address works fine for other sites and I successfully registered with it on paypal (and have been receiving paypal emails ok).

did you copy the email address with a space in front or back? Ebay counts those as letters/numbers and will make them invalid.

Never mind. You said you typed it in as well.
