Default Suspended powerseller account: receipts required

oh wow my life is ruined!!!...ebay is my only job!!!!!!...
I buy cell phones on craigslist and resell them on ebay..
I have 300+ feedback and am a gold powerseller...
It says
"Documentation that shows that you purchased the item(s) recently
listed for sale on eBay. Documentation that will help us verify your
items can include either manufacture invoices or receipts.
Unfortunately, we will be unable to accept photos of the items to
fulfill this requirement. "

I don't have receipts for these items...I buy through ads on craigslist and then re-sell. They are used, not new phone. My account is PERFECT. all positives - no cases, no nothing.

HELP WHAT DO I DO???
I don't have receipts for used phones to give ebay

I wouldn't mention Craigslist. eBay seems to have a real problem with using them as a source of goods.

Wait to hear from some others, as I have not faced this same siutation.

But if it were ME, I would tell eBay...

I sell used phones and do not have a "supplier" in the sense that you are asking. I purchase my used phones locally for resale. I have been doing this for over 4 years and have built up a prety nice-sized referral network of people who sell to me when they get a new phone. I also, on occasion, purchase some bulk lots of used cell phones from local businesses when they upgrade their phones or switch carriers.

If you know someone who owns a business (it would have to be listed in case they check) who would do you a favor, you could ask them to tell eBay (if eBay asks) that you bought 25 (or whatever number) of phones from them recently, when they switched carriers to get a better deal. That might give you a little more credibility.

In constantly amazes me how eBay expects every small-time seller to have the same supply channels as Best Buy or Wal-Mart. ..

A gold powerseller doing $10,000 monthly to have that status yet you do not mention you have called your dedicated customer service line or spoken to your account manager. Apart from panic have you done anything else?

You must have had some problems etc.

Why this is very strange, very strange.

Shoot me a pm with your ebay ID & we will go from there

i dont see why you couldn't get a reciept from a private sale to submit to ebay. If these are used, just ask the seller to provide a piece of paper with the price, and contact info. If the IRS will accept this type of reciept, I dont see why ebay will not, I mean, c'mon they are used phones. Im also a little puzzled that out of the blue, they would ask for this information. I tend to think there may have been a couple issues that was of concern to the powers that be. Good luck. Also, how are you doing your taxes without any documentation. If you get audited, ebay is gonna be the least of your problems. No reciepts, how will you verify your business expenses?

Welcome to the forums. You have quite a few people responding to you so I figure you are already on a solid path. Fee db ack and power s eller status aside, you can always make up receipts. Get yourself professionally "looking" and you should be ok.

Or enlist services of other people and pay for those services...

You use of ! is quite demanding but all the best. Pretty simple really to provide receipts...

I used to do this except I got my stock mostly from eBay strangely enough. They limited me despite no negatives, neutrals or DSRs lower than 4.7. This 'business model' of buying and selling expensive phones is frowned upon by eBay apparently.

I don't understand ebay - if you are a powerseller they have it out for you.
Their goal is to kick you off their site for good.
I NEVER did anything wrong. ALWAYS shipped same day and had 100% positive. My feedback was glowing. I was buying used phones legitimately and you cannot sell stolen phones (if that's what they are worried about) because I check the ESN with the company before I sell it.

I really hate ebay - they ruined my life. This was my job and then one morning - BAM- like that I'm shut down. RUINED.

But if you are a buyer, you can do whatever you want.
feedback extortion? ahhh just a warning..
non-paying bidder? we'll let you get 4 strikes before you consider banning you

But me - powerseller for 4 years with perfect feedback in the hundreds -
SHUT DOWN FOR GOOD!

I hate ebay for the way they treat sellers. We are expendable

Default same thing with me off for no reason

i had all my listings ended and a letter sent to my buyers sent in 1 of my newest supplier and got this back i was a gold top rated power seller selling 30k-35k a week

Thank you for contacting eBay in regard to your account restriction. I
have reviewed your case and I will assist you today to understand what
else may be done to resolve this matter.

We appreciate your efforts to provide all the documentation we
previously requested to verify your account. Unfortunately, the invoice
you provided does not appear to be from an authorized reseller and
therefore we cannot verify that the items being sold on your account are
genuine. When working with suppliers it is important to make sure
you?re dealing with a reliable company. As a seller, you?re ultimately
responsible for the legality of any item you offer for sale on eBay.

I realize that this may be frustrating and inconvenient, but we believe
that not implementing these security measures would foster an unreliable
and untrustworthy marketplace. There are websites that do not make
attempts to verify the goods being sold through them. Many of these
websites consequently suffer from more fraud and counterfeit. Customers
know this, and often choose not to use those websites. To maintain a
level of safety and integrity, we believe that making an extra effort to
verify the items being sold on our site is a necessity.

Moving forward. As we are unable to verify the supplier of your
merchandise, we are no longer comfortable permitting you to list these
items on eBay. If you would like to continue to sell on eBay, we as that
you find a new product and supplier for items that you wish you list,
should your account be reinstated.

after i faxed that i got this

Thank you for writing eBay in regard to the selling restriction on your
account and the documentation we requested. I understand that being
restricted is frustrating and you would like to resolve this matter as
quickly as possible. My name is Kayla and it is a pleasure to assist you
as a member of our eBay community. I want you to know that I have
reviewed your account and understand your concerns completely.

Unfortunately, we will not be able to call the owner of xxxxxxxrce LLC.
As we stated in our previous email to you, since we were unable to
verify the supplier of your merchandise, we are no longer comfortable
permitting you to list these items on eBay. If you would like to
continue to sell on eBay, we suggest that you find a new product and
supplier for items that you wish to list, should your account be
reinstated. Please fax your new supplier information or receipts and/or
invoices for the items you wish to sell on the site to:

so i was ready and sent my others suppliers both ebay power sellers and then got this 1

Thank you for contacting eBay in regard to your account restriction. I
have reviewed your case and can confirm that we have received your fax.
I will be happy to help resolve this situation today.

We received your appeal for your eBay account and appreciate you taking
the time to gather the required documentation. As previously
communicated, in our email on October 13th, we are no longer comfortable
with the sale of cell phones on your XXXXcellular account. In order for
us to continue with your appeal, we require that you provide invoices
for a new product that you would like to list instead of cell phones.
You can fax invoices to the address below.

I appreciate you taking the time and effort to compile this information.
Please fax the above requested information to:

Before my selling restriction i was 99.8 1123 feedback all star over 4.85 and my dsr all under .50 well under .50

Today i am talking with the Fl State district attorney and a business attorney
Ebay is playing winners and looser in the used cell phone market if you not selling 2000 a week and have a staff of 50 they dont want you

Hrash07,

I wish you the best of luck, I really do. Many of us here on the forums have similar experiences. We had thriving businesses one day, only to be shut down by a power hungry, pimple-faced, $10 per hour eBay rep the next.

I have spoken with an attorney before and was told that eBay can basically refuse service to anyone for any reason. As long as they are not excluding people based on federally protected categories - race, religion, etc. - and I don't think that eBay is doing that - there is nothing that can be done. Nobody has a "right" so sell merchandise on someone else's website.

Stealth has been the answer for most of us. Spreading sales across several accouts to avoid triggering the type of review you are experiencing.

At $30k per week, you were doing about $1.5 million in business per year. eBay sees that as a risk and they are not likely to reverse their decision. By all means, speak with your lawyer, go to the attorney general or whatever. But don't expect much.

Go stealth and get back to business. Then you win!

as mentioned by others, trying to use logic with fbay is a waste of time. many of us had legitimate fbay businesses and lost it for bs reasons. then one day i found this board and never looked back. get stealth and move on, you'll be better off.

Same reason why my powerseller account got shut down. I was doing great, happy! Had plans and finally an outlet. An easy outlet to fund for college and pay expenses and buy my own stuff! But eBay don't care. But you know what, I got 1 account 2 months old. Another one 1 month old, and 2 more just recently started.

My goal is by January to be selling like I used to 90 per month (or even more with the help of my other accounts) but my goal is, re-invest on 10 more accounts, and sell until I get 5 feedbacks, and then leave them alone until one of my other accounts get shut down. Then I'll have 10+ for replacement and already 90 days (:

My strategy is, don't give up man, it really killed me when I saw this as I had gone with 4 eBay accounts being linked for noob reasons (paypal email) and this one just because eBay knew we were taking over. So along my hopeless path and I sat down, and stumbled upon ASPKIN Forums, saw that I had a couple of bucks to invest on the stealth guide, did so, now I'm very glad I did, I can now pay at least the basic of my monthly expenses. (: Buy it, keep your chin held high, don't give up. Ask questions here, but I advice you if you don't want to get a bad taste in your mouth search before asking because people here can be aggresive (done so myself even after researching o.O)

But do not give up lad, we are here together. You can do it. (:
Don't leave what you can do today for tomorrow. As tomorrow is never guaranteed.

I was new to ebay and paypal and thought Iam untouchable .Good money easy money, just drink coffee in nero and receive emails Notification of payment received (i loved them).Until one day - Restricted indefinitely ,no longer registered user,Limited Paypal and later suspended indefinitely, message from ebay-you can not use ebay in any way....etc.
I thought ,what the f-k is going on.I was selling mobile phone accesories ,noting high risk vero or so.Everything under 15£.But now is different bought eBay Stealth ,got through the forums every day ,reading and researching my new steps stealth steps.

Default Me too

Just so that you know, it isn't just the cell phones.
I have spend 5 hours on the phone with ebay over the last few days, and the best answer that I could get from most of them, is "not my department".
The other classic response that I received was this info was needed to verify.......
Verify what? You don't have my bank account info OR my drivers license previously, so what are you verifying?
along with that, why should I produce receipts for products that I have around my house, or even if they weren't from around my house, eBay started off as a HUGE nationwide (now international) garage sale.
a way to get rid of items that other people wanted and you didn't.

The kicker to this, is that eBay makes money off the seller, and then makes it again off of paypal. WHY...WHY do you want to inconvience the sellers with good ratings? This makes NO sense.

I already submitted a complaint to the BBB stating that the information they are requesting, along with the information that THEY have as their other company, Paypal.....

My advice - don't get smart with ebay.

Give them everything they want in as much detail as they want.

Try to sound as professional as you can in your emails, give all the receipts they want - don't tell them you can get the receipts. Make some up.

In the future, open a couple ebay accounts and spread the sales around!

Unfortunately "used Phones" is considered a HIGH RISK Category. Also 300 feedback while it isn't bad. It not very much in grand scheme of things.

It isn't always fair but eBay looks down on certain categories and items. That they deem as "High Risk". They are over overcautious.

Yes of course there.

Did you notice this thread started in 2011?

Search paypal & ebay forums.

Post what you have worked out for responses then.
