Default Break Even price for BIN

I've decided to share some of my tools with you. I'll release them as I clean up the codes.

First up:
BigGiantBalls.com App Page

This app calculates the breakeven price for eB.com. It takes into account of the PP fee and the FVF. It doesn't include the insertion fee. It uses current rates and I'll update it when 7/6 comes around. It's extreme lightweight and mobile friendly.

If you think the breakeven price is just cost+eB fees+Shipping+PP fees, then you're probably losing $$.

I don't have plans to incorporate other eB sites because I don't need them and I have no incentive to do so.

Constructive criticisms are always welcome.

Too early, just finish loading all the codes. Should work now.

Cool man but I can't help but think that their are better apps out there. ECAL for one:

Thanks for the feeback. However, the point of the exercise is to determine what price one must list an item given the cost and postage. It's not just to figure out the FVF.

A practical use of the tool would be to determine, on the fly, if an item is worth stocking by comparing the breakeven price with the average listing/selling price on eB. A simple FVF calculator cannot do that.

Also, if I already have a selling price in mind, I can simply list the item as BIN and eB will tell me the FVF before I confirm the listing. I don't need another program to determine that.

^ Ecal includes cost of item and postage.

It is constantly updated to fit with eBay's current fee structure as well.

It has a lot of features.

yup, noticed the reverse calc. Their reverse calc has a math error, something I almost missed back when I first wrote the code. And the PP discount rate is giving funny numbers.

Now I have to go back and double check my math, again.

Besides, I just want to show off my domain that I "grabbed" yesterday.

I just use ballpark figures when I set my prices.

It would help me, if you let me know the percentage range of mark-up needed over cost to break even?

I guess the biggest variable is the shipping cost, but that can be calculated by
e-bay already. So that doesn't need to be in the mark-up.
