Latest Gmail app update allows to hide images Feb/2017
The latest app update allows you to turn off sender images in settings, for the iphone APP. I remember there being a post when that became a no longer available, it seems enough people complained or something...
Just a post to alert those who didn't use Gmail to check their accounts because of this...

Thanks for the update @NewYork.
Not surprised people complained... external images use up a lot of mobile data.
Contrary to what some may believe, even though your GMAIL images may have shown up, it is very unlikely that it would have caused your accounts to link since Google routes images etc. via a proxy. They do this to prevent senders collecting information about the recipient i.e. their IP - which tends to work in the favour of stealth accounts.

Yes! The web browser had the option, but for a while the mobile app didn't... now it seems it does again. Now if only the mobile app would also give the option to turn off conversation view, like the web browser does.... I can't believe the mobile app doesn't automatically have the same settings options as the web browser.
