Default Using a cellular connection card to create accounts?

Has anyone attempted to use a data/connection card instead of a standard internet connection?

I've been using one for a few weeks from Verizon, and every time you disconnect and reconnect, it always has a brand new IP address. eBay doesn't geo-locate the ip address unless they're investigating you for fraud. For creating accounts, I thought this might be a very useful tool. Has anyone had any problems or success with them?

A few users here including me, tether their iPhone's and Blackberry's to get a new ip each time they reconnect. It's pretty much the same as using a mobile broadband card. I have had no problems using my iPhone's internet.

I get too many phone calls to tether... but I think the iphone can receive and make calls while being used as a modem?

I've been using the connection card, without issue. After 400 ip's, not a one is identical to another.

This works perfectly and eliminates the IP address problem. Have been using close to a year with no issues.

I know you might have to have a plan or something but does it work with prepaid?

Some companies offer prepaid mobile broadband, but if you buy the card outright (pay full retail) you won't have to do a contract.

^^ Not true with Sprint. I bought an aircard off eBay, took it to the sprint store and they said there's no plans without a contract. They said all companies are the same except Virgin Mobile, which doesnt have a contract if you do the prepaid plan.

Not to argue sir, but that is most certainly not true. You were probably talking to a sales man who gets paid with contracts. The reason there is a cancellation fee is to pay for the discount on the equipment they give you. I know for a fact Verizon will do this, that's what I did.

Virgin mobile is Sprint's prepaid service, and they don't have mobile broadband.

I have firsthand knowledge that it is possible to activate service without a contract with Sprint. Let's just say I'm very familiar with there terms of service.

Can you show me a link? Or direct to me the price you see where you can get it without a contract? The prices I was shown were something like $39.99 a month for a 2 year plan and $59.99 a month for a 1 year plan, with no option to get it without a contract...

What? Are you saying the prepaid Virgin Mobile does not have broadband? When did that stop in the USA.

Virgin mobile has no coverage, and I thought they only operated on 1xrtt, which isn't broadband. I could be wrong about that though....

Nobody999,

I use Verizon with my Blackberry and IP is different every time. My phone bill is ridiculous bu that is because of all the extra features. Im not sure how much it would be for just the Blackberry and the tether feature, but I am thinking about $80 extra a month.

I was using a Sprint 3G card to connect via my laptop for about a year. Then I upgraded to 4G through Clear Wireless Internet Home Page.

4G is not available in all areas, but it is available in Chicago where I'm based. When I'm not in a 4G area, the modem switches to Sprint's 3G network, which is pretty widespread.

FYI, Sprint owns 51% of Clear Wireless.

Check out Clear's 3G pricing. It's cheaper than any US mobile telecom's 3G prices, and Clear has a no contract month to month plan. The 4G is a little pricey though, but that's the trade off for being an early adopter.

I just wanted to update this thread with what I have found out.

I just purchased a Sprint plan and I'm using the USB Adapter Sierra Wireless 598U.

The plan is about $60 bucks a month.

I installed the software and then connected and reconnected 10x tracking my IP with IP Burger.

The results were as follows:

*** masked ips *** admin edit

So this sounds like it will be a great way to go. My speed is great and it keeps it off of my home network.

So we just need to be careful not to use an IP on one stealth account that has been used on another, right. If we see one of those IPs come up, just disconnect and reconnect and check again.

Much better than dial up!!!!!!

Yes, it's a great tool! Way easier than vpns and resetting modems.

IP's will inevitably be recycled, no matter what you do. It's the law of large numbers. Don't worry about using a previously suspended ip.... just make sure you didn't use it!

In other words, I have an account with ip x, ip x was used on a suspended account 7 years ago. That's going to happen... rare, sure. But that alone will not get you kicked.

So I was looking into getting Clear as well. Can you tell me more about it? Can you change you ip etc?

The way any data card works, I'm sure it will reset the ip when you disconnect and reconnect.
