New Google Chrome Feature: eliminates need to create multiple windows user accounts?

The Chrome browser has recently added a new feature(in the last 1-2 months) that allows multiple user profiles to be created for each installation of chrome. Each user profile seems to be completely separate from the other profiles, with separate cookies, bookmarks, and the user accounts can switched in an instant.

If the cookies and all other browsing data are indeed completely separate, then maybe would it be sufficient to use this multiple user profile feature of chrome for separate ebay accounts, instead of creating multiple windows account profiles?

Perhaps someone here with more knowledge about browser cookies could verify if this feature could save us the work of not only setting up different windows profiles for each account, but also the time of switching between different windows accounts.

For anyone wondering, to create a new user account in chrome, go to settings, and then at the bottom of the screen there will be a box labeled "Users". Inside this box there will be a button letting you create a new user.

Once you've made the new user, an avatar will appear in the top-left corner of the chrome browser.

To switch users, simply click this avatar.

I'd rather just use portable Firefox on one user account , chrome scares me , it's whole concept is linking everything together , I'm sure ur right but I would be too paranoid with chrome

Now that's a bit scary there, there is no way to really tell that the cookies are completely separate....

I tested it out and while browser cookies were separated I was unable to establish flash objects with the new user profile I created. I'm not sure why...

The one good thing I noticed was that flash objects or browser cookies were NOT carried over from the main user account.

So that's interesting..

Interesting, I have been trying with Firefox portable, but prefer using Chrome. Having so many user accounts on my laptop is a pain In the ass in so many ways

I agree I recently switched from Firefox and different user accounts to just one user Account and portable Firefox , each file numbered corresponding to the stealth account and all them files in one big eBay Stealth file neatly on one desktop

I used to hate that little bit of time when it would say preparing desktop, and than I'd have to configure each Firefox browser

All that is in the past

Chrome has a portable version that can be installed on a separate folder and works exactly like firefox. I have tried it and it works great. I am still doing more testing and will use with stealth accounts.

Been using all the portable versions of the 3 major browsers (Chrome, FF, Opera) and it seems that Chrome is the fastest, then FF and Opera (surprisingly) is really slow. But all of them are faster/more convenient than using separate accounts.

I don't have a link to it but I remember reading developers notes and they assured that when someone create a new account in chrome, chrome creates a completely separate installation of chrome that doesn't cross with any other installation in anyway.

After playing with it it seams to be all good for eBay Stealth. I still run separate vms for all of my AZ accounts but probably in near future gonna try switch from vmware to chrome or firefox portable even for AZ.

I love new discoveries like this, which is why I still keep coming back to this forum (and have been for years...). In the spirit of the Almighty stealth guide itself, I prefer to make a Windows User ID for each account and stay on the proven path for important accounts, but this is definitely something to play around with... especially on new accounts or ones where not a lot of time and money and effort has been invested. Thanks for the new ideas, and the informed followups! I'll definitely be following this thread, it would be a time saver for sure.

Yea,I just changed to portable Firefox and it saves time not only switching accounts but that minute it takes when u log in to a new user account and it configures the desktop and also saves time in configuring each browser's preferences

I would just set the one up with all preferences and copy that one as needed for a new account, really a great way to work

True, if you know Italian, French, German, Chinese, Spanish and some other ones. Otherwise - there is no such good auto-translation addon like the integrated Chrome's one directly from Google. Think about.

Also think about foreigners that their main lang is NOT EN, but still know it. The again might not be good at the provided langs above as well.

About the separate Chrome profiles feature - I don't know where is the "new" thing here!? This is something for over 1-2 years or maybe even more. And have been found now?

Of course have been tested but still some kind of risky. Specially for Google AdSense - a big "no-no". Something made from Google and you want to be Stealth from his product ?

The same thing for PP/eB/AZ. Separate Portable installations into different folders with a different name, even can be used the addon for different useragent(s).

The same thing for FF, Opera, even Skype. And all other "Portable" software that is being made from an expert users/devs.

Hi! I got the book and I am ready to start using my several stealth accounts I have created. I use windows 8 and following the book indications, I just have created different users for each account. Before doing all that I restarted my computer so it looks like just came out of the box. I will use a different portable internet for each account.

What troubles me, is that today when started using one of the accounts, let's call it #2, with Chrome , I opened Chrome and all the shortcuts to my favorite pages were in Chrome as well. I created this shortcuts in the main account, and when opening Chrome in a different user, I thought they should not show. But trhey appear! So I wonder if I am doing something wrong and if cookies actually are not getting mixed. Thanks!
