Default new account and initial bidding/browsing

How many items should one need to bid on before being able to list?

What happens if I accidently won 1 item I bidded on? Can I just pay for it? Any problems if I do that?

You don't have to bid on any really

If you do bid, I would aim for items like cars which you 100% will not win

Browsing on the account itself would be enough though

Ok thanks.

IF I won an item, should I go ahead and pay for it??? I won an item on accident that I thought would get much higher in price.

The quickstart guide said to bid and browse.

thanks.

What did you win? You need to speak to the seller then

iphone - figured it was going to go alot higher but probably didn't because the seller only had a small amount of feedback.

can I just pay for it, or not advised? I can always resell the phone.

Make sure it's genuine - it's risky to sell that on a new account though

I wouldn't resell it on my swappa.com account. i wouldn't sell anything high end off the bat on a stealth. nothing expensive at all.

Yeah I usually bid on cars where you know you won't win, remember if you pay for that item he will most likely want to ship it to the address registered on the account, is it a stealth address?

If you do pay for it then

1st - you need to work out how to pay for it (VCC should work)
2nd - how to get the item delivered. They would want to send to your registered address

Personally I think you would be best off messaging the seller being very sincere apologising saying you cannot pay for the item. As a seller it pains me to say that, but it is your best move on a new account. Then learn from the mistake

I used to bid on med - high end cars/trucks that were worth at least £2k according to current market value. I never won, but that's ok with me!

Just to ask; does anyone browse on eBay prior to setting up an account? If so, how long do you browse? And how long do you browse on a new account?

I browse for a few days.....as long as u are listing a low risk item, you should be fine.

Yea you can pay for it and possibly get positive feedback from it, but if you're going to bid on items that you do not want to win just to strengthen the acct with eBay in hopes of a high limit outcome then I would use another account you don't care about to outbid yourself on the item
