Default Sending documents into PP - mismatched creation and modification date

Just found out, that PP may decline docs because they have different creation and modification dates, which means in their eyes, that document has been modified instead of just pulled out of the camera and sent to them. Same also happens if a person just resized the document via some editor... but still another thing to check!

Good to know that.

Could you tell how did you discover it?

I just looked at some software that is used to analyze docs for signs of edits. Also they don't like at all if EXIF contains "Adobe" word, or when image is saved to JPEG two times, so different areas of the image have different compression ratios, as JPEG artifacts re-saved in JPEG have very easy discoverable patterns.

So instead of sending the jpg can we still fax the docs?
That would eliminate the extra exifs that could cause a rejection...
Does anyone know a fax number

Print, scan, convert to PDF and remove all metadata. There's a function for that in Acrobat Pro.

thanks for sharing, muzzie

If memory serves me right, Paypal has a 2 MB limit for the uploaded docs. It means that many of the users have to use some kind of software at least to reduce the size of the docs (average camera today gives you a larger .jpg usually).

I'm sure Paypal does look at metadata and exif, but I assume (that's only my humble assumption) that editing (not obvious falsification, of course) doesn't play the main role in the decision "accept or decline the docs". It's rather one of the factor. If your account generally healthy, but there is Adobe in Exif - they would still accept it, I think (again - it's not based on the experience or facts).

Anyway, the best way would be, as oompaloompa said: edit - print - rescan (not using the highest resolution).
